Category:

  1. Iron Cross

This is an attractive - albeit moderately worn- ie. used - example of an early-pattern- and/or unusally non-magnetic, 'Eisernes Kreuz 1. Klasse' (or: Iron Cross 1st class) being a non-maker-marked example as was produced by the desirable Austrian maker (ie. 'Hersteller') named: 'Friedrich Orth' (ie. 'Hersteller 15' ) and that comes an overall very nice- (albeit moderately used ie. worn-), condition. The non-magnetic cross has a (typical) copper-based 'core' that retains a nice (somewhat darkened) age-patina and retains truly great detail: the black-coloured core shows hardly any staining and is truly almost fully preserved: just some paint-loss is present on the arms of the swastika and '1939' date-designation (as can be seen on the pictures). The piece retains some of its so-called: 'hochpolierte Kanten' (or: polished sides) and is just a bit tarnished by age. The (flute-shaped) pin and catch (ie. set-up) are naturally unaltered and/or fully functional. The cross - which is a non-vaulted example as more often - is as stated above a non-maker-marked example (as can be seen on the pictures). Simply an attractive early-pattern- and/or non-magnetic IC1 that was never before in a collection and that is with certainty accordingly priced!
