This is an attractive - albeit regrettably single but nevertheless still fairly scarcely encountered! - WH (Heeres) general-officers'-type shoulderboard as was intended for - and clearly worn by! - a general-officer with the rank of: 'Generalmajor des Heeres' and that comes in an overall very nice- (ie. just moderately used- and/or carefully tunic-removed-), condition. The neat shoulderboard - which shows an 'upperdeck' that is executed in bright-golden- and/or silver-coloured- (ie. early-war-type) so-called: 'braid' - measures approx. 11,2 cms. in length and shows a bright-red-coloured- and/or 'smooth'-woolen-based 'underground' as to be expected. The board never had a tongue attached and was thus a piece that was worn as a piece of the 'sew-in-type' (it was with certainty once worn and was clearly tunic-removed - as can be seen on the pictures). The board never had any pips attached and was thus intended for a general-officer with the rank of: 'Generalmajor'. The board shows truly extraordinary detail and is a great example of the employed craftmenship used in the days. It is a tiny bit tarnished ie. stained (simply caused by years of storage ie. moderate wear). The piece originates from a private-household and was never before part of any collection. Simply a very attractive - and/or truly detailed! - WH (Heeres) general-officers'-type shoulderboard: too bad that it is only a single example!
