This is an attractive - and actually truly detailed! - example of an: 'Infanterie-Sturmabzeichen in Silver' (or: silver-class infantry assault-badge ie. IAB), being a non-maker-marked example that was produced by the: 'Schauerte u. Höhfeld'-company as executed in greyish-silver-coloured- and somewhat tarnished zinc-based metal (ie.: 'Feinzink') and that comes in an overall nice (albeit minimally used- and/or worn-), condition. This example is as stated above a non-maker-marked example (as always) and has a 'typical' catch- and/or hinge set-up as to be expected for IABs by this particular maker. The badge seems to have never been cleaned and has an attractive, silver-coloured- and somewhat tarnished age-patina: truly most of its original silver-finish has been preserved (as is not always the case): the award is just somewhat dirty but was never cleaned. The pin and/or catch (ie. set-up-) are of course fully functional and/or present. The piece - which originates from a private household and that was never before part of any collection - shows some moderate wear and/or staining was most certainly never cleaned. Simply a nice and honest silver-class example by the desirable maker: 'Schauerte u. Höhfeld' that is IMO accordingly priced!
