This is an attractive - albeit regrettably single but nevertheless with certainty rarely encountered - (IMO) NCO-type, so-called: 'Ostvölker' (Luftwaffe-related?) shoulderstrap having the black- ('schwarzer'-) coloured branchcolour and that comes in a wonderful- (ie. hardly- or even never worn-), condtion. The strap is constructed following the typical '1944 cloth-minimising production-manner' using different shades of wool and/or material (as can be seen on the pictures). The shoulderstrap which measures approximately 9,7 cms. in length as more often seen - is truly very unusual in construction: it is executed from the bluish-coloured- and/or smooth-type wool and has the neat, 'silk-like'-type piping attached: moreover, does it show two stripes of silver-toned, NCO-braid attached over the entire length, presumably indicating the soldiers' (ie. NCOs'-) rank (as is more encountered with these later-war-period 'Ostvölker'-related shoulderstraps). The strap comes naturally mounted on its functional tongue. The exact usage and/or signifigance is, however, not known to date. Simply an attractive and rarely seen 'Ostvölker'-related shoulderstrap: too bad that it is only a single example!
