 'Nebelwerfer' ('Stug.') collar-tabs

'Nebelwerfer' ('Stug.') collar-tabs

This is a very nice (and most certainly very rare!), fully matching pair of collar-patches, having the neat 'Karmesin'-red (ie. purple-like) piping (= 'Nebelwerfer' or smoke-troops) and greyish 'Einheitskragenspiegel' mounted on a dark-green woolen background, as used on the field-grey 'Sturmgeschütz' wrap-around tunics, in clearly used and uniform-removed condition. The set was found at a local German flea-market and was never before in a collection. The set - which shows some clear usage and wear - was absolutely once mounted on a tunic (stitching remains are present) and was carefully removed (the piping on one of the tabs comes somewhat loose but nothing shocking though). The tabs are 'backed' with the typical, brownish 'Buckram'-like material and are somewhat dirty (caused by wear). I have personally NEVER before encountered such a set and I deem it a beautiful pair of unquestionable rarity: something that merits its high asking price!

 Shoulderboards 'Feldgendarmerie'

Shoulderboards 'Feldgendarmerie'

This is a very nice (and very rare!) pair of matching (IMO mid-war) WH (Heer) soldiers'-type shoulderboards, as intended for a soldier in a 'Feldgendarmerie' (= field-police) unit, in overall nice, albeit clearly used & worn condition. The boards have the neat bright-orange coloured 'silk-like'-type piping and show some regular stains from being simply dirty. They have never been cleaned and show some moth-damage (mainly on the back of one of the tongues). The boards were absolutely always together and were certainly worn as such. The pair - which is approximately 11,5 cms. in length - comes on its functional tongues. IMO a very nice and honest 'front-used' pair that would look nice if attached on a (M43) tunic or rubberised 'Kradmantel'. Moreover, is the orange 'Feldgendarmerie' branch-colour maybe the most difficult one to encounter. This is the first such pair I ever had on offer: I deem that the rather high asking price is absolutely appropiate for this very desirable pair!

 WH (Heer) 'Panzer' collar-tabs

WH (Heer) 'Panzer' collar-tabs

This is a rare and surely unusual pair of WH (Heer) pink-piped 'Panzer' collar-tabs having attached matching metal skulls as used on the black-coloured 'wrap-around' Panzer tunics, in clearly used and uniform-removed condition. The set has the dark-yellow 'buckram' backing and both skulls (retaining their original pins) are IMO originally attached: one of the skulls shows some minor zinc-corrosion. Of additional interest is the fact that the PZ soldier who wore this pair, added pieces of white felt (ie. wool) behind the skulls, giving the set a more 'lively' appearance. The set - which has the neat 'silk-like' type pink-coloured piping - is in clearly used and uniform-removed condition (stitching-holes are still visible) and would be excellent to restore a black Panzer tunic! A nice and desirable set that originates from my own collection: I bought this set years ago from a private house-hold. I know that the asking-price is rather high for this set but an original and matching set is nowadays almost impossible to encounter!

 Complete 'Ostvölker' set - 'Aserbaidschan'

Complete 'Ostvölker' set - 'Aserbaidschan'

This is a very nice - and truly unsual and most certainly very rare! - set of fully matching 'Ostvölker' collar tabs (woolen version) & matching shoulderboards, as worn by a 'Unteroffizier' in the 'Aserbaidschan' Legion, still originally mounted on its original field-grey collar, in very nice & only slightly used condition. The collar is fabricated in ‘standard’ field-grey wool and is backed with dark-green ‘herringbone twill’: it is very carefully removed from a tunic: it still has the originally attached, dark-green coloured, woolen (‘moleskin’) collar-tabs as intended for an 'Unteroffizier' in the 'Aserbaidschan' Legion. The tabs have the neat ‘grass-green’ silk-like type piping and have the rank-signification executed in the ‘bluish-grey’ and sub-dued NCO-braid. The - fully matching! - set of shoulderboards are equally nice and measure 10,5 cms. in length. Also this pair has the neat ‘grass-green’ silk-like type piping as well as the rank-signification of ‘Uffz.’ executed in the ‘bluish-grey’ and sub-dued NCO-braid. The boards come naturally on their original tongues. These insignia were - as possibly known - often mounted on old stocks of (foreign) uniforms that were captured during the beginning of WWII. These for example Czech- or Dutch uniforms were regarded as ‘Kriegsbeute’ and often re-distributed to the troops of the ‘Ost-Legionen’. This set originates from such a tunic: it was years ago removed from a captured Dutch tunic and was stored for years as such. I had several times a loose tab or board, but never before a matching 'Aserbaidschan' Legion set for sale. Simply a very rare foreign-volunteer related set for which I deem the - rather high - asking price appropiate. Maybe a ‘one-of’ opportunity to acquire such a complete, matching ‘Ost-Legionen’ set!

 'BeVo' officers'-type 'Cossack' collar-tab

'BeVo' officers'-type 'Cossack' collar-tab

This is an extremely rare - albeit regrettably single - 'BeVo'- woven, officers'-type: 'Cossack' collar-tab, depicting two crossed arrows on a bright-red background surrounded by a silver cadre, in nice, only sligthly used (or unissued?) condition. The tab is beautifully woven in so-called: 'BeVo' style: the piece is 'pre-folded' and backed with a piece of carton. This is only the second such tab I have ever encountered in my collectors' life and is surely a piece of great rarity. Simply a fantastic piece of Eastern volunteer related insignia!

 TeNo ('Technische Nothilfe') arm-badge

TeNo ('Technische Nothilfe') arm-badge

This is a truly very rare TeNo ('Technische Nothilfe') arm-badge intended for a 'Lehrgangsteilnehmer an den Reichsführerschulen der TeNo' (=student at one of the TeNo elite training-schools), having attached maker-etiket, in very nice and clearly tunic removed condition. The badge - which is woven in so-called: 'flat-wire' weave technique - shows extraordinary detail and also bears a (linnen) etiket bearing the makers' name and patent-pending (being: 'G & W'). These insignia were worn on the lower left arm of the dark-blue (officers') type 'TeNo' uniforms. The badge orginates from the same officer as the 'hand-embroidered' TeNo arm-eagle, which I offer under number: 20137. Both pieces originate from a private house-hold and were never before in a collection. A very nice and desirable piece of insignia!

 Shoulderboard 'GFP'

Shoulderboard 'GFP'

This is a truly very rare - albeit regrettably single - 'cyphered' WH (Heer) shoulderboard, as intended for a 'Feldpolizeisekretär der Geheime Feldpolizei', in nice, only slightly worn condition. The board - which is of the 'sew-in'-type and never had a tongue has the typical green woolen (moleskin) underlay and light-blue secondary branch-colour. Moreover, does the boards' deck show a light-blue 'inner-strip', as was prescribed per regulation. The board has the white-metal (aluminium) 'GFP' cypher originally attached. The exact tasking of this very obscure - and most certainly very small - units is not exactly known but had to do with espionage within the army (Heer), similar as employed with the German 'Abwehr'. A really 'one of a kind' shoulderboard!

 LW 'Flugzeugführerabzeichen' by 'Assmann'

LW 'Flugzeugführerabzeichen' by 'Assmann'

This is a nice LW 'Flugzeugführerabzeichen' (pilots' badge) executed in 'Buntmetall' (tombak). This one is nicely maker-marked: 'A' (which stands for the 'F.W. Assmann & Söhne' company based in Lüdenscheid). The badge is clearly worn but shows a great deal of detail and character. The badge retains its original catch and pin and shows two pristine rivets (all three being typical hallmarks for a fine period 'A' badge). The badge has never been cleaned or polished and is a bit dirty: it also shows some regular tarnish and patina: the truly 'bluish'-coloured eagle has extraordinary detail. A nice, original - and IMO quite early - LW pilots' badge!

 'Truppentraditionsabzeichen des 34. Inf.Div.'

'Truppentraditionsabzeichen des 34. Inf.Div.'

This is a very nice (and truly rare!) so-called: ‘Truppentraditionsabzeichen des 34. Infanteriedivision’ executed in white/green painted copper-like material, in nice, albeit clearly used & worn condition. This rare ‘Traditionsabzeichen’ (or 'Plakette' as officially known) is executed in painted copper-like material and comes complete with its original - albeit damaged! - pin-attachement. The small badge - only sized: 2,5 x 2 cms. - depicts a wite field with a diagonal 'green wave' and was worn on the side of the M43 field-caps. The badge on offer here has never been cleaned nor polished and shows some truly minor wear. (The badge is also pictured - with a drawing only! - in the Heering-Hüsken ‘Abzeichenkatalog’, wherin it is given the number 9805a and an estimated price of 180 Eu!). As possiblly known were these (semi-official!) badges also properly entered in the ‘Wehrpass’ and 'Soldbuch': they also were handed-out with an official award-document (!). A nice 'Infanterie-related: ‘Truppentraditionsabzeichen’: the first such badge I ever had on offer!

 Green-piped 'Mütze für HJ/DJ'

Green-piped 'Mütze für HJ/DJ'

This is a rare and unusual item: a nice - and actually early - tan-coloured 'HJ' visor-cap (or 'Mütze für HJ/DJ') which is named to a certain: 'Egon Nagler', having the neat 'grass-green' piping (='Landjahr'), that comes with its originally attached 'RzM' etiket as per regulation, in an overall very nice, albeit clearly worn condition. The cap - which is of a nice so-called: 'Sattelform' - has all the looks as to be expected from an original piece: the fairly thick leather visor, the typical chin-strap and both insignia are present and (IMO) original to the cap. The piece originates from a private household and was never before in a collection. The cap is piped with the (woolen-type), grass- ie. bright green branch-colour, signifying that it was a cap that belonged to a participant in the HJ 'Landjahr' movement. The leather sweat-band is in overall fine condition but shows one tear (nothing shocking though): it shows the normal marks of having been regularly worn. The cap is in a very nice condition and only shows one minor flaw ie. damaged area on the top (visible on the photos): also this I deem not disturbing. The piece shows the (linnen) etiket on the inside (as per regulation) identifying this piece as a 'Mütze für HJ/DJ' of the model as authorised by the 'Reichs-Jugend-Führung' in December 1934. The cap shows three times the name of the bearer (a certain: 'Egon Nagler'): twice this is written on the inside of the sweat-band and the third time it can be read from the small paper that is stored under the 'Mica' triangle. The pictures do actually no real justice to this nice and rare piece: in hands it is much nicer! A stunning piece of HJ/DJ headgear!

 pre-1938 HJ armbadge 'Luftsportscharen'

pre-1938 HJ armbadge 'Luftsportscharen'

This is a very nice & clean example of the rare HJ (Hitlerjugend) pre-war - ie. after 1938 worn - arm-badge, belonging to a member of the 'Luftsportscharen', in nice, slightly used and clearly shirt-removed condition. The badge - which is nicely woven in BeVo like weave - depicts white stylised wings and propellor overlaid with a white-edged, black swastika set on a red circle, all on a tan background. Although the 'Luftsport- scharen' (air sports squad) was set-up under the auspices of the DLV ('Deutches Luftsport Verband') it became generally known as: 'Flieger HJ'. This example still shows the stitching holes and shows almost no usage nor wear (some small staining is visible). A truly rare badge that does not appear often for sale: impossible to upgrade this example!

 ‘Truppentraditionsabzeichen’- related grouping

‘Truppentraditionsabzeichen’- related grouping

This is a very nice (and truly rare!) small (ie. 4-piece) award-document-/‘Truppentraditions- abzeichen’-related group, comprising of a ‘Truppentraditionsabzeichen des 215. Infanteriedivision’ plus rarely encountered ‘Besitzzeugnis’, a ‘Wehrpass’ and ‘Ostmedal’ award-document, all awarded to the ‘Obergefreiten Josef Glöckler’, who served in this division, all in nice, albeit clearly used, condition. This rare ‘Traditionsabzeichen’ (or 'Plakette' as officially known) is executed in zinc and comes complete with its original pin-attachement: it has IMO never been cleaned nor polished. (The badge is also pictured in the Heering-Hüsken ‘Abzeichenkatalog’, wherin it is given the number 9817a and an estimated price of 225 Eu!). It comes with its - never before encountered - accompanying: ‘Besitzzeugnis’ (which is signed by ‘Generalleutnant und Divisionskommandeur’, ‘General der Infanterie’ Baptist Kniess). Of additional interest is the fact that this (semi-official!) badge was also properly entered in Glöcklers’ ‘Wehrpass’: on page 38 it is entered (and given a - very late! - date of June 1942!!). As stated comes this group also with Glöcklers’ ‘Wehrpass’, which is in an overall nice (albeit clearly used) condition. The WP comes somewhat loose from its cover but it retains all pages and is not denazified nor damaged whatsoever: it bears a uniform-picture of Glöckler and is really full of entries and notes. It also shows that Glöckler participated in various battles. Glöckler was also awarded the ‘Winterschlacht im Osten’ medal on 31 July 1942: his A-5 sized award-document is also still present with the group. Simply a nice and very complete ‘Truppentraditionsabzeichen’-related group: maybe a one-off opportunity to acquire it in this complete condition!

 'high-quality' 5-piece medal bar

'high-quality' 5-piece medal bar

This is a very nice (and unusual!) 5-piece 'high-quality' medal bar / 'Bandspange', showing amongst others a WWI IC 2nd class with (very detailed and scarce!) 'Wiederhohlungsspange' miniature (actually a rare so-called: 'Halbminiatur') & two WH 'Dienstauszeichnungen', both with attached eagles, in nice, albeit clearly used, condition. The other medals are a WWI 'Kriegsteilnehmer' medal with attached swords and a 'Westwall' medal. All ribbons are of the smaller i.e. regular (1,5 cms. wide) version: all four attachments show tarnish and wear but are very detailed. The bar is in nice albeit slightly used condition (some stains visible) and has a functional pin & catch. I deem that the presence of the rare 'Halbminiature' merits the rather high asking-price: the price I got it for was also very high but I simply wanted this item for the site. A nice 'Bandspange' that belonged to a soldier that showed bravoury in both WW's: great to 'upgrade' any (officers') tunic!

 NCO-boards: 'Panzergrenadiere'

NCO-boards: 'Panzergrenadiere'

This is a very nice - and fully matching! - pair of WH (Heeres), mid- ie. late-war, NCO-type shoulderboards, having the bright-green ('silk-like') piping, as intended for a 'Feldwebel' (sergeant) in a 'Panzergrenadiere' (= rifle regiments) unit'. The boards - which measure 12 cms.in length - come on their original tongues and are in nice, text-book condition and show only fair wear and usage (some age and staining is visible). Both have a field-grey woolen deck, standard WH-type 'silverish' NCO-braid and two identical (regular-sized and zinc) pips, originally attached. It should be noted that 'Heeres' shoulderboard-pairs piped in this nice branch-colour are very hard to come by and regarded scarce. Simply a nice pair of truly used 'Panzergrenadiere' boards that can easily serve to complete a 'Heeres' tunic!

Rare Waffen-SS 'BeVo' collar tab set

Rare Waffen-SS 'BeVo' collar tab set

This is a truly rare Waffen-SS 'BeVo' style collar-tab set, comprising of a runic tab and rare rank-tab. It should be noted that he black rank tabs are 1000x more scarce than their runic counterparts and almost impossible to find. Both tabs have the 'white carton-like' backing as often observed. I know that this set is highly priced but it should be noted that in 30 years of collecting, I have only encountered a handfull of such sets. This set was found together and I will not separate them and only sell them as a set. A truly nice and rare Waffen-SS rank-tab set!

 Waffen-SS 'Taschenkalender' 1945-issue

Waffen-SS 'Taschenkalender' 1945-issue

This is a neat little item that I have never seen before: a Waffen-SS so-called: 'Taschen- kalender' (pocket-diary) 'Der Soldatenfreund', 1945 issue. The diary - 12,5 x 8 cms. - is unissued and all pages are void of entries or notes. These small diaries were much welcomed due to their additional contents (articles, pictures, vocabulary and coloured maps of all possible German insignia, ranks flag etc.!. The diary is in very nice condition and just shows some minor areas of age & wear (something that is remarkable due to the very bad quality paper used). The fact that these small diaries were still issued in 1945 is truly remarkable: I have never heard of a '1945' edition and taken into account that the '1944' issues are already considered rare, I simply had to aqcuire this item (although its high asking price!) for the web-site. Of particular interest are the (coloured) pages 4 & 5: these show some never before seen collar-patches, such as the one pictured for Hungary (Ungarn). Simply a very nice and desirable item!

 Green-coloured, aluminium 'Postschutz' belt-buckl

Green-coloured, aluminium 'Postschutz' belt-buckl

This is a nice example of the very rare green-coloured, 'pebbled' aluminium 'Postschütz' belt-buckle that comes on its maker-marked and dated leather tab ('Richard Sieper u. Söhne' - 1938), in nice, only slighty used condition. This piece - which still has a fair bit of its original green coloured finish remaining - has truly great detail and is nicely maker-marked: 'R.S. & S' on both tab and buckle (which signifies that it is produced by the: 'R. Sieper u. Söhne' company based in Lüdenscheid). The (natural) coloured tab is slightly used and shows some wear and age (it is however fully souple and functional). One of the most desirable and rare TR-era buckles in existance: something that justifies the high asking price!

 HJ/BDM cuff-title: 'BDM-Osteinsatz'

HJ/BDM cuff-title: 'BDM-Osteinsatz'

This is a nice example of the rare HJ/BDM ('Bund Deutscher Mädel') cuff-title: 'BDM-Osteinsatz' (BDM eastern action), executed in neat BeVo-weave, in cleary used & tunic-removed condition. The cuff-title - which is IMO slightly shortened and measures: 39 cms. - is woven in greyish-white on a brown coloured background. It was worn on the lower left sleeve and was awarded to BDM members who served as volunteers in the occupied eastern territories. The piece is clearly tunic-removed and shows some minor damage on the borders (caused by the removal) but this is IMO not that shocking. It also has been glued in an album once and shows some minor glue remains. It still shows the remains of its orginal 'RzM' etiket. Simply a very rare and desirable youth cuff-title which is not often offered for sale!

 WH (Heer) badge 'Sonderverband 287/288'

WH (Heer) badge 'Sonderverband 287/288'

This is a truly rare WH (Heer) BeVo woven 'Ärmelabzeichen für Angehörige des Sonderverband 287/288'. The ‘Sonderverband 288’ was raised on July 1st, 1941 at Potsdam (near Berlin). It was composed of units from all over Germany. This special Unit 288 or z.b.V.288, was also known as Combat Group Menton, after its commander. It originally contained crack units from all branches of the German army: anti-tank men, Alpine troops, engineers, and eventually 3 of the new StuG.III assault guns. There was also a company of Brandenburgers, trained for special operations behind enemy lines. These units were intended to prepare the way for the DAK as it flowed across the Nile and into the Middle East and on to India. Their most important component was a group of interpreters with their own printing presses. These men knew all the languages that would be needed, from Arabic and Persian dialects to Hindi, Urdi and Sanskrit. There was also a specialized group who had been trained to seize and rebuild the oil fields of the region. When it became obvious that Rommel's rush to the Nile was not going to be a cake walk, the 288th minus its interpreters and technicians was sent to Africa as special reinforcements. During the Gazala Line battles the 288th saw action supporting the Italian Ariete against the French forces defending Bir Hacheim at the southern tip of the British defenses. They also participated in the El Alamein battles, and the last of their StuG.IIIs was left behind for the British to contemplate. By October 31, the Sonderverband 288 was reorganized and renamed Panzer-Grenadier-Regiment Afrika. The armbadge is very nicely woven in the so-called: 'BeVo' technique and a true example of this fantastice technique. The badge is clearly used and folded/confectioned condition. The badge offered here is naturally a 100% period example for which I give a life-time garuantee. A truly nice & rare armbadge!

 Tropical WH 'A-frame' ('Gefechtspäck')

Tropical WH 'A-frame' ('Gefechtspäck')

This is a very nice and only slightly used, WH 'A-Frame' ('Gefechtsgepäck') that comes complete with all its cloth lashes, metal-loops and tan-coloured cotton straps present. The frame is naturally fully functional and shows a clearly readable date and producers' stamp ('Josef Kersten - Krefeld - 1942') stamped in blue-ink. The 'pack' is only sligthly used and does not show any rust nor damage (both its metal rivets are original to the frame and were not re-mounted or alike). This one was surely issued and used and can be graded as a true DAK ('Afrikakorps') item. All metal parts still retain their greyish finish (and do not show rust or alike). The piece comes with its (rare!) specific, horizontal (all webbing) strap having two loops, intended to hold the mess-tin. A nice and scarce piece of equipment which is IMO almost impossible to upgrade!

 Woven 'page-holder' / 26. Inf. Div.

Woven 'page-holder' / 26. Inf. Div.

This is a nice and most certainly unusal item: a 25 x 4,5 cms. sized - neatly BeVo-like woven so-called: 'page-holder', handed-out in order to commemorate the various Knightscross holders ('RK-Träger') within the '26.Infanterie Division', in used condition. The piece depicts the 'traditional' badge of this division (a twin-towered church on a light-yellow back-ground) and a nice woven version of the 'Ritterkreuz': in between the names of 11 famous 'RK-Träger' (being: Weiss, Wiese, Hertzsch, v. Stoessel, Schell, Matern, Haun, Niggemeyer, Vogelsang, Schwertherr & Mintert) are to be found. The detail on this piece is truly very nice. The piece shows some slight staining but is in fine order overall. A nice 'Infanterie'-related commemorative piece!

 WH (Heer) 'T-shaped' officers' M43 cap-eagle

WH (Heer) 'T-shaped' officers' M43 cap-eagle

This is a very rare WH (Heer) so-called: 'T-shaped' M42-cap eagle/cocarde, executed in so-called 'flat-wire' BeVo weave style, as intended for officers' usage. The eagle/cocarde is executed in silver on a field-grey background. The eagle is in mint, unissued condition and cannot be upgraded. (These 'T-shaped' eagles were specifically produced for the impopular M-42 cap, but were used also on the M43 caps). The 'regular' versions of these T-shaped eagles are already scarce: the 'flat-wire' ones are really rare!. Simply a very nice and desirable cap eagle: maybe the rarest of the 'Heeres' BeVo cap-eagles!

 WH (Luftwaffe) 'jump-smock' eagle

WH (Luftwaffe) 'jump-smock' eagle

This is a very nice and IMO truly rare WH (Luftwaffe) breasteagle, executed on thin bluish-grey cotton, in unissued condition. These eagles are often encountered on the (mid/late war) 'Fallschirmjäger' jump-smocks ('Knochensäcke'). This example originates from a small collection of 'veteran' bring-back LW eagles that I was able to acquire. A nice and rare piece of LW cloth!

 WH (Heer) 'Knautschmütze' BeVo insignia

WH (Heer) 'Knautschmütze' BeVo insignia

This is a mint, unissued WH (Heer) set comprising of a BeVo 'flatwire' M36 model eagle and cocarde, intended for use on the 'Knautschmütze' / 'Alter-art' visor cap. Both are in mint unissued condition and are executed in so-called BeVo 'flat-wire' style. These sets were intended for use on the 'Knautschmütze'/'Alter-art' visor cap. Both are executed in silver-grey on a dark-green background. A very nice set: almost impossible to find if needed and hardly ever offered for sale!

WH (Luftwaffe) BeVo 'Hermann Meyer' cap-set

WH (Luftwaffe) BeVo 'Hermann Meyer' cap-set

This is possibly one of the most rarest BeVo insignia-sets to find: a truly nice example of the WH (Luftwaffe) BeVo Tropical cap-eagle and cocarde, specifically designed for usage on the tropical LW so-called: 'Hermann Meyer' cap. Both pieces have been clearly worn and were neatly removed from a cap. This is the first such set I ever had on offer: I deem the high asking-price accordingly for this extremely rare set. Caps without insginia are sometimes offered for sale: the specific inisignia are as far as I know never offered for sale. A very rare and desirable set!

Kriegsabzeichen für Schnellboote - 2. Modell

Kriegsabzeichen für Schnellboote - 2. Modell

This is a nice - albeit used - example of a WH (Kriegsmarine) 'Kriegsabzeichen für Schnellboote - 2. Modell' (= E-boat war-badge 2nd model) as produced by the 'Adolf Scholze' company, in fair, albeit used, condition. The ('Feinzink' and late-war) badge retains minimal traces of its original golden/silver finish. The catch, pin and small contra-hinge are naturally present and functional. The badge is nicely maker-marked on the back with the 'AS' logo. The details of this - never cleaned nor polished badge - are still detailed and sharp. A nice 2nd. model 'E-boat' badge that is IMO fairly priced!

 NCO 'Offz.Anwärter' boards 'GD'

NCO 'Offz.Anwärter' boards 'GD'

This is a regrettably slightly mis-matched pair of WH (Heer) shoulder-boards, piped in white, as intended for an NCO ('Feldwebel u. Offiziersanwärter') of the 'Infanterie' (infantry), within the famous 'GrossDeutschland' division, in nice, albeit cleary used condition. The boards - which only differ in truly minor detail - are 11,5 cms. in length and have the neat, white-coloured, 'silk-like' piping and have identical zinc-coloured 'GD' cyphers and pips, IMO period attached: as far as I can see do all devices retain their fragile prongs. The pair has the 'Heeres-type', silver-coloured NCO-braid period attached (the 'Anwärter' slips are executed in a different coloured material and were most certainly always there) signifying that the bearer was an officer candidate ('Offiziers Anwärter'). The pair is fairly used and shows the signs of having been moderately worn. It should be noted that nice and original 'GD'-pairs are not often offered for sale. The pair I have on offer here was certainly worn as such would be awesome if re-mounted on a mid-war 'Heeres' tunic!

 Semi-offical: 'Eismeerfront' medal

Semi-offical: 'Eismeerfront' medal

This is a nice 'Gebirgsjäger' related item: a scarcely encountered, semi-official medal: 'Eismeerfront - 1942-1943', in nice, albeit clearly used condition. The medal depicts an 'Edelweiss' flower on its front and comes without a cord or rope as found and/or worn: is a 'Feinzink' example that still shows a fair bit of its 'bronze-like' finish: it has really nice detail. I know that these desirable 'semi-official' medals are also copied: this is a genuine example that was never in a collection before and originates from a German flea-market. The term 'Eismeerfront' relates to one specific formation: the 'XIX Gebirgs Korps'. This 'Korps' had many units in its structure but the main elements were the '2' and '6' 'Geb.Div.' and the '210. Inf.Div.'. There is not much known about this 'medal' but it was most certainly a 'souvenir' piece that could be privately purchased by the soldiers active in this war-area. The piece shows some slight corrosion marks. In any case a nice and surely scarce 'Gebirgsjäger' related item!

 Miniature 'Spanienkreuz in Silber'

Miniature 'Spanienkreuz in Silber'

This is a nice - and very detailed! - example of the rare 16-mm. miniature of the 'Spanienkreuz in Silber mit Schwertern'. The lapel-pin, which comes on its full-length pin - is in clearly worn condition - but retains almost all its bright silver finish (which has just a bit tarnished over the years). The piece - which is uncleaned - is void of a makers'-mark or code. The detail is extremely nice for such a small item. A truly rare miniature that is not often offered for sale!

 'Fallschirmschützenabzeichen' by B&N

'Fallschirmschützenabzeichen' by B&N

This is a very nice, IMO mid-war, zinc (i.e.'Feinzink') version of a WH (Luftwaffe) 'Fallschirm- schützenabzeichen' (= paratrooper jump-badge), in nice albeit sligthly used condition. The badge has naturally a functional pin & catch construction and has IMO never been cleaned nor polished. Furthermore is most of its original golden finish still present: just the 'regular' higher areas show normal wear. This example is neatly maker-marked on the back with: 'B & N - L', signifying that was produced by the 'Berg u. Nolte' company based in Lüdenscheid. The badge shows great detail and still bears the dust from being kept for years. Simply a nice mm FJ-jump badge of unmistaken originality in slightly used condition!

 'Fallschirmschützenabzeichen' in cloth

'Fallschirmschützenabzeichen' in cloth

This is a truly nice example of the scarce WH (Luftwaffe) paratroopers jumpbadge (or 'Fallschirmschützenabzeichen') in cloth ('padded' version!) that still has its original, aluminium 'Muster' tag attached, in mint, unissued condition. This one has great detail and is made thicker - by the producing company - to resemble the iron version. The piece is nicely 'backed' with thin black paper as usual: the middle part has been 'left open', thus showing the felt inner part. This example certainly originated from a period insignia-maker and has an aluminium, round-shaped 'tag' attached: this one is individually numbered: '9317' (most certainly being the makers' inventory code). These badges were preferred by the soldiers 'in the field' for obvious reasons. A nice, text-book example that cannot be upgraded: maybe the nicest such badge I ever had on offer. A great 'cheaper' alternative for its metal-counterparts!

 WH Luftwaffe NCO 'tropical boards'

WH Luftwaffe NCO 'tropical boards'

This is a very nice (and scarce!) set of fully matching WH Luftwaffe NCO 'Flieger/Fallschirmjäger', 'Unteroffizier'-type (NCO) tropical boards, as intended for the tropical shirt. The set has the neat 'silk-like' piping and is IMO in mint, unissued condition. The set would fit perfectly on a tropical LW shirt. LW tropical shoulderboards with the typical 'chocolate brown' NCO braid are considered very scarce! A nice and unusual pair!

WH (Luftwaffe) matching pair of 'HG' boards

WH (Luftwaffe) matching pair of 'HG' boards

This is a neat - and truly rare! - pair of matching WH (Luftwaffe) 'Hermann Göring' division, soldiers'-type shoulderboards, in very nice albeit slight used and worn condition. The boards are in sllightly used condition and have the neat white-coloured 'silk-like' type' piping. The set is IMO of later war production and was fabricated with (recycled) 'old' cloth as more often seen: the undersides are executed in 'RAD'-like greenish wool. (One of the boards shows a tiny moth-hole on the underside, but nothing shocking). The tongues are lined with slightly different fabric but the pair was always together and is most certainly matching. A truly nice and desirable set that is not often offered for sale: great to complete a LW 'Hermann Göring' division 'Fliegerbluse'!

 'Grubenwehr Ehrenzeichen'

'Grubenwehr Ehrenzeichen'

This is a rare example of the 'Grubenwehr Ehrenzeichen' (mine rescue honor medal) that comes with its original (17 cms. long) ribbon, in nice, albeit clearly used and most certainly issued condition. As certainly known are these medals often copied and most of the encountered specimens are not period. This example, however, originated from a stack of medals that was 'liberated' as a souvenir in 1945 by a US soldier and remained as such for years. It has great detail but has turned very dark (tarnished age-patina): it has however never been cleaned nor polished. The details on the piece are stunning! Naturally, do I provide a life-time garuantee on the originality of this piece! A nice opportunity to obtain one of the more difficult TR medals.

 Waffen-SS RzM style arm-shield: 'Flandern'

Waffen-SS RzM style arm-shield: 'Flandern'

This is a truly rare Waffen-SS RzM style 'Flandern' arm-shield intended for use by soldiers of one of the regiments of the '27.SS-Freiwilligen-Grenadier-Division 'Langemarck' (or 'Flämische Nr.1'). The shield depicts the black lion on a yellow back-ground, being the symbol of the Flemish volunteers. This type was most likely introduced in late 1944 for use by the Flemish volunteers. This type is one of the most difficult examples of the 'Dachau series' shields to encounter. The shield is in mint, unissued condition and cannot be upgraded. A 100% original and very rare foreign volunteer shield!

 Full-length cuff-title/armband: 'Kurland'

Full-length cuff-title/armband: 'Kurland'

This is a text-book example of the 'Kurland' cuff-title. The armband is full-length (approx 24 cms.) and both ends show some normal fraying as is often the case with these bands). The band is in very nice, and only slightly used condition and has no flaws whatsoever (it shows some normal staining of having been worn on a tunic once). The cuff-title is executed in black cotton on a greyish (cotton) background. It should be stated that this is not a commemorative cuff-title (such as the 'Afrikakorps' cuff-title) but an official award that needed official recognition. A very nice and original example!

Waffen-SS BeVo style skull (large model!)

Waffen-SS BeVo style skull (large model!)

This is a very nice and nowadays rarely encountered Waffen-SS BeVo style cap skull in used and clearly cap-removed condition. This one is nicely executed in so-called 'BeVo' weave style and can easily be mounted on a Waffen-SS side-cap or even M43 cap. The skull - which is of the rarer larger-sized type - is greyish-/white coloured but is dirty and never cleaned. It shows some glue-remains on the back, caused by having been glued in an album once. A very nice skull that is not cheap but nowadays fully worth its money! These original skulls are almost impossible to find! This skull was previously also placed on the site: I deemed that it needed a new listing with a slightly reduced price!

 Pair 'GD' officers' shoulderboards

Pair 'GD' officers' shoulderboards

This is a nice and scarce item: a text-book, IMO mid-war, fully matching pair of cyphered shoulderboards, intended for a officer ('Hauptmann der Sturm-Artillerie') of the famous 'GrossDeutschland' division, in nice, only slightly used condition. The - bright-red piped - boards are executed in fine 'moleskin' wool and are clearly used and show normal wear and age. The boards have both identical (golden-coloured) 'GD' cyphers and four golden-coloured (identical) pips originally attached. Both are of the 'sewn-in' type and never had any tongues: they are neatly uniform-removed. A truly scarce pair from a famous 'elite' division: great to complete a tunic or wrap-around jacket!

 NCO-boards: 'Oberfeldwebel der Pz. Gren.'

NCO-boards: 'Oberfeldwebel der Pz. Gren.'

This is a very nice - and fully matching! - pair of WH (Heeres), mid- ie. late-war, NCO-type shoulderboards, having the bright-green ('silk-like') piping, as intended for an 'Oberfeldwebel' (sergeant 1st class) in the 'Panzergrenadiere' unit (= rifle regiment), numbered: '33' . The boards - which measure 12 cms. in length - come on their original tongues and are in a nice, text-book condition and show only minor wear and usage (some age and staining is visible though). Both have a field-grey woolen deck, standard WH-type 'yellowish' NCO-braid, four identical (aluminium) pips and two sets of '33' numerals, originally attached. Of interest is the fact that on one of the boards the '33' numerals got loosened: they are period stitched to the board. Also is are the period 'added' red (woolen) felt stripes of specifc interest. It should be noted that 'Heeres' shoulderboard-pairs piped in this nice branch-colour are very hard to come by and regarded scarce. Simply a nice pair of truly used 'Panzergrenadiere' boards that can easily serve to complete a mid-war NCO 'Heeres' tunic. Maybe the best 'Pz-Gren.' pair I ever had on offer!

 Officers' cuff-title: 'Feldhernnhalle'

Officers' cuff-title: 'Feldhernnhalle'

This is a truly superb example of the very rare ‘flatwire’ woven - thus officers’-type - golden-brown-coloured cuff-title: ‘Feldherrnhalle’, that comes with its original ‘RzM’ etiket, in stonemint, unissued condition. This cuff-title was worn by the officers of the in 1943 formed ‘60. Panzer-Grenadier-Division “Feldherrnhalle”. The building named ‘Feldherrnhalle’ - situated in München - was the site of the unsuccessful ‘Beer Hall Putsch’ of 1923, in which the NSDAP attempted to seize governmental power and in which sixteen NSDAP members were killed by the police. After the NSDAP gained power in January 1933, the ‘Feldherrnhalle’ became a national shrine for the sixteen assassinated ‘martyrs’ of the party. Shortly after the purge of the ‘Sturm Abteilung (SA)’ in June 1934, the newly appointed ‘SA-Stabchef ‘(or Chief-of-Staff), Viktor Lütze, established the ‘SA-Wachtstandarte’, which unit was tasked to guard the NSDAP offices and allotted it the honorary title ‘Feldherrnhalle’. Sometime in the mid to late 1930s’, staffmembers serving with ‘SA-Wachtstandarte Feldherrnhalle’, were allotted an honorary ‘Feldherrnhalle’ cuff-title. In August 1942, the members of the 271st Infantry Regiment (being a component of the 93rd Infantry Division) which consisted largely of SA volunteers, were also authorized wear of the same "Feldherrnhalle" cufftitle as the a.m. ‘SA-Wachtstandarte’. On 1st July 1943, distinctive new shoulderboard cyphers were introduced for wear by both the ‘SA-Wachtstandarte’ and the army’s ‘Feldhernhalle’ units. In 1943, the the 271. Infanterie Regiment ‘Feldhernhalle’ was detached from the ‘93. Infanterie Division’ in order to form the nucleus of the newly formed 60. Panzer-Grenadier-Division “Feldherrnhalle” and divisional personnel were also allotted the honor cufftitle and shoulderboard cyphers. The armband on offer here is a full-length example (it measures 51 cms.) and has unfinished ends (which show minor fraying). It is neatly executed in ‘officers’-type’, so-called: ‘flat-wire’-type weave and shows the wording ‘Feldherrnhalle’ in old German ie. ‘Sütterlin’ script. It still retains its (light-blue) coloured ‘RzM’ etiket (‘B-Stück’) and simply cannot be upgraded. Simply a superb piece of great rarity!

 WH (LW) cloth 'Beobachter Abzeichen'

WH (LW) cloth 'Beobachter Abzeichen'

This is a nice - and actually rare - WH (Luftwaffe) 'Beobachter Abzeichen' (observers) badge, so-called: 'officers' version', which is executed in hand-embroidered silver-thread, in nice, slightly used and IMO uniform-removed condition. The badge is naturally a fine original, something that is obvious if one considers the neat multi-coloured threads and very detailed embroidery used. It is not backed, clearly showing the stitching-techniques used: it shows some 'wear-marks' and has acquired a darkened tarnish over the years. The detail is absolutely stunning! This one would surely look nice on a 'LW Fliegerbluse' and is a good (and much cheaper!) alternative for its metal counterpart! A very nice and desirable LW badge!

WH (Luftwaffe) light-blue shirt-eagle on pouch

WH (Luftwaffe) light-blue shirt-eagle on pouch

This is a nice and unsual item: a clearly used example of the rarely observed WH (Luftwaffe) shirt-eagle as worn on the greyish-blue summer-shirts, that is still attached on the shirts' pouch as worn. The eagle has faded a bit (and it is also a bit dirty) but is still in a gorgeous condition. The eagle has great detail and is executed on the same background as the am summer-shirts. Simply a nice LW item in wonderfull and truly worn condition!

 'Ehrenurkunde des N.J.G. 1'

'Ehrenurkunde des N.J.G. 1'

This is a nice and surely unsual award-document entitled: 'Ehrenurkunde des Sportfest der Nachtjäger auf dem Fliegerhorst Quakenbrück', in overall nice condition. The document - which shows the nice and colourfull logo of the famous 'Nachtjagdgeschwader 1' - is actually the 'fourth' price and was awarded to the (entire) 'IV.N.J.G.1' (being the 4th 'Gruppe' of the 'Nachtjagdgeschwader 1'). IMO is the document - amongst others - signed by the famous LW 'Nachtjagdgeschwader' ace named 'Hauptmann Helmut Lent', who was KIA in October 1944. Lent was awarded a 'Ritterkreuz' (on 30 August 1941), the 'Eichenlaub' (6 June 1942), the 'Schwerter' (2 August 1943) as well as the 'Brillianten' (31 July 1944). It is also signed by an unnamed 'Hauptmann'. The document - which is sized: 24 x 16 cms.) was once folded into two and is regrettably hole-punched but not denazified. Still a very nice and decorative LW 'nightfighter' related document that is not often offered for sale!

 Matching pair soldiers'-type 'Panzer' boards

Matching pair soldiers'-type 'Panzer' boards

This is a neat - and fully matching! - pair of WH (Heer) IMO of mid- ie. later-war model, 'Unteroffizier'-type shoulderboards, as intended for and worn by an NCO ('Unteroffizier') of a 'Panzer' regiment, in nice only slightly used condition. The boards are entirely executed in black (somewhat 'course') wool and have the neat silverish 'standard' NCO-braid and bright-pink 'silk-like'-type piping attached. The pair shows only moderate wear & age and was found as such (one of the boards shows some minor damage on the back which is not visible from the upperside). A truly scarce pair in a very desirable branch-colour: great to complete any black Heeres 'wrap-around' tunic!

 WH (Heer) 'Gebirgsjäger' shoes

WH (Heer) 'Gebirgsjäger' shoes

This is a matching pair of WH (Heer) 'Gebirgsjäger' (mountain-troops) boots, which are 'RbN.' numbered and dated '1944', in very, nice almost mint, condition. The (heavy) boots are in gorgeous condirtion and were almost never polished nor greased: they still retain there 'light-brown' ie. natural coloured leather appearance. The pair comes without leather laces (which are however easily replaced) and has undamaged 'green-wool' shafts as per regulation. They are a fair size ('26') so will easy fit a mannequin: the inside is nicely and clearly 'RbN.' stamped: '0/0674/0016' and bears the additional stamp (date) '27 06 44'. The metal nails are almost entirely present: one shoe misses one or two nails (which is IMO not shocking). Pls. note that this is a very heavy item, something that acquires a vast postage-ammount to sent. In any case a very nice item that is not often offered for sale!

 Cuff-title: 'Stabshelferinnen-Führerin des Heeres

Cuff-title: 'Stabshelferinnen-Führerin des Heeres

This is a very nice 'BeVo' item: a most certainly very rare (and never before seen!) cuff-title entitled: 'Stabshelferinnen-Führerin des Heeres', having an interwoven 'BeVo Wuppertal' logo, in mint, unissued condition. The band - which is full-length (ie. 44 cms.) was most certainly a honoray cuff-title that was worn by the higher cadre of the (female) Heeres 'Nachrichtenhelferinnen'. Of interest is the fact that this armband is identical (in many details!) to the (scarce but more often encountered) 'Stabshelferin des Heeres' armbands: these are, however, executed in white cotton on a green background. This example is however woven in golden-yellow on a green background. The various reference works existing on the subject matter do not mention the existance of such a cuff-title, making this example very rare and maybe even unique: something that merits IMO the high asking price!

 Pair of WH 'Panzer/Panzerjäger' boards

Pair of WH 'Panzer/Panzerjäger' boards

This is a very nice - and fully matching! - pair of WH (Heeres) soldiers'-type, M36-model, shoulderboards, having the bright-pink (woolen) piping, as intended for a soldier in a 'Panzer' ie. 'Panzerjäger' unit. The boards - which measure 11 cms. in length - come on their original tongues and are in a very nice, text-book condition and show only minor wear ie. usage. Both have a dark-green woolen deck. These 'simple' soldiers'-type boards piped in pink are very hard to encounter: this is only the second pair I have come across. Simply a very nice and text-book pair of 'Heeres' boards in a desirable (and actually rare) branch-colour!

 'Deutsche Olympia Errinerungsmedaille'

'Deutsche Olympia Errinerungsmedaille'

This is a very nice example of the commemorative medal, awarded to participants that assisted and helped in organising the in 1936 in Berlin held Olympic Games. This medal (named: the 'Deutsche Olympia Errinerungsmedaille') came in a white, simulated leather etui. This example is in very nice condition and has never been cleaned nor polished (nice age patina) and has great detail. The box - lined in dove-grey - is in very nice condition and retains all golden finish on the top. The medal comes on it original (small sized and orange-red coloured) ribbon and copper-coloured pin for attaching it to the uniform. A very nice and not that often encountered set: impossible to upgrade this example!

WH (LW) removable officers' visor-cap eagle

WH (LW) removable officers' visor-cap eagle

This is a truly rare WH (Luftwaffe) (removable) officers' visor-cap eagle, hand-embroidered on white wool, as was used for the white-topped LW officer-type visor-caps. The eagle - which is IMO clearly used and cap-removed - is in a nice condition overall: it shows some minor discoloration and staining and still retains it copper-coloured back-plate (having two rings attached for easy affixing/removing it to/from the cap). The eagle has great detail (extraordinary embroidery!) and can of course easily be used to restore a white-topped LW cap. A truly rare piece of cloth insignia!

WH (Heer) DAK boards 'Spiess der Art.'

WH (Heer) DAK boards 'Spiess der Art.'

This is a truly rare pair of used WH (Heer) Tropical (DAK) shoulderboards, as intended for a 'Stabsfeldwebel' or ('Spiess')of the 'Artillerie'. The boards - sized: 11,5 cms. - are cleary used (clear wear, slight staining and sun-bleach are visible) but are in an overall, very nice, condition. Both have the nice 'silk-like' piping and would neatly fit any tropical tunic. The set is slightly mis-matched (minor differences are noticable such as the lining of the tongues). The set was IMO most certainly always together and was worn as such. The pair has the neat yellowish, tropical DAK NCO braid attached and has 6 (slightly different) aluminium pips attached. This is one of the first Heeres tropical shoulderboard sets I ever had on offer: a truly nice pair that belonged to a Heeres 'Spiess' that served in the famous 'Afrikakorps'!
