This is an attractive - very desirable, almost matching and nowadays very scarcely found! - pair of neatly 'cyphered', Waffen-SS, NCO-type shoulderstraps (ie. 'Schulterstücke für Unterführer der Waffen-SS') as piped in the white-coloured branchcolour as was specifically intended for usage by an: 'SS-Oberscharführer' (ie. sergeant) who served within the: 'Waffen-SS Infanterie-Truppen' ie. the: SS-Rgt. 'Deutschland' (2. SS-Pz-Div. "Das Reich") and that comes in an overall nice- (albeit moderately ie. clearly used- and/or. worn-), condition. The shoulderstraps are constructed from the typical, (smooth-type) black-coloured-wool and show the black-coloured 'upperdecks': the straps are in all facets a typical 'standard-issued- and (I deem) mid- (ie. early-) war-pattern-type pair (I deem around 1940/1941). The shoulderstraps - which measure approximately 11 cms. sized in length each as more often encountered - show the neat white- (ie. 'weisser'-) coloured branchcolour and/or desirable 'silk-like'-type branchcolour ie. piping attached (as can be seen on the pictures). The straps - which are also 'backed' with field-grey-coloured wool as more often - come of course mounted onto their (typical!) early-pattern and regular-sized tongues, attached (something that is more often seen with genuine, early-period Waffen-SS shoulderstraps). The straps show the typical, silver-toned NCO-braid and a pair of (matching, aluminium-based and/or regular-sized) pips period-attached. Moreover, do they show a pair of (Gothic-styled, non-magnetic ie. I deem 'Buntmetall' and/or tarnished, silverish-toned) so-called: 'D'-cyphers (ie. 'Ziffern') period-attached. One of the cyphers came apparently loose overtime and was re-attached by means of some stitching (as can be noticed on the pictures). The straps were clearly (ie. quite heavingly!) used but are void of any real damage but do show some obvious wear, age and/or staining (as can be seen on the pictures). Moreover, were they once glued into an album or scrapbook and do show some paper- ie. glue-remains on their backs. It should be noted that almost every collector is looking for these white-piped, 'cyphered' Waffen-SS NCO-type-shoulderstraps but these are very hard to find and that come nowadays hardly ever for sale. The straps are as stated above clearly used ie. worn (one of the straps shows a tiny moth-hole). It should be noted that these original, period 'cyphered', Waffen-SS NCO-type-shoulderstraps can easily be graded 'rare': even more so, when they are piped in the rarely encountered, white-coloured- (ie. 'SS-Infanterie-Truppen'-related-) branchcolour!
