Attractive - and fully matching! - pair of 'cyphered', WH (Heeres) officers'-pattern shoulderboards as piped in the darker-blue-toned branchcolour as was specifically intended for a: 'Hauptmann u. Arzt einer Sanitäts-Abtlgs.'
The attractive - and fully matching! - WH officers'-pattern ('Heeres-Sanitäter' ie. army-medical-troops-related) shoulderboards are typical, 'text-book'-examples of the Heeres'-type shoulderboards and have the silver-greyish- (ie. truly somewhat 'sub-dued'-type-) 'upperdecks': they were with certainty issued and/or worn as such and do show some moderate age, wear and/or staining (as can be seen on the pictures). The boards show the desirable darker-blue- (ie. 'blauer'-) coloured branchcolour (and were constructed from the 'smooth-type' wool as can be noticed on the pictures). The pair comes mounted onto its (typically smaller-sized) tongues attached and was most certainly used and/or carefully tunic-removed (as can be seen on the pictures). The boards measure approximately 10,3 cms. in length each and show each two pairs of (fully matching, bright-golden-toned, larger-sized and/or 'Buntmetall'-based) pips and a pair of (equally-styled and also larger-sized) so-called: 'Aesculapus'-cyphers (ie. 'Ziffern') period-attached denoting the officers'-rank of: 'Hauptmann u. Arzt' (or: captain and medical doctor). All six devices are just minimally stained- ie. tarnished but have preserved a fine and fairly bright- (albeit minimally darkened) age-patina. Taking into account, the fact that this pair has the somewhat 'sub-dued'-type 'upperdecks' I deem that it was a pair that was intended to be used on a regular 'front-used'-tunic. Simply an attractive WH (Heeres) shoulderboard-pair that belonged a: 'Hauptmann u. Arzt einer Sanitäts-Abtleilungs'!
