This is an attractive - regrettably single but nevertheless scarcely found! - specific FAD (ie. 'Freiwilligen Arbeitsdienst') officers'-type shoulderboard (being of the pattern as was used in the period between 1932-36) as was intended for a: 'FAD-Oberfeldmeister' and that comes in an overall nice- (ie. moderately used- and worn and/or clearly carefully tunic-removed-), condition. The neat (typically thin-shaped) board measures approx. 12,5 cms. in length and show a single (horizontally-mounted) 'loop' attached: it is executed in the typical, black-and-silverish-toned 'braid' and comes mounted onto a: 'velvet-like' woolen-based background (as can be seen on the pictures). The board comes in an overall nice- (ie. fully 'text-book') condition and still shows some of the thread- ie. stitching-remains with which it was once tunic-attached. These scarcely found FAD-officers'-type shoulderboards (the FAD was in fact the predecessor of the RAD or: 'Reichsarbeitsdienst') were used by the officers serving within this organisation. This example originates from a larger-sized grouping of RAD- and/or FAD-insignia that was recently found at a private-household in Germany and that I acquired for the web-site. Simply a great occasion to acquire a desirable (and truly hard to find!) 'Freiwilligen Arbeitsdienst'-related officers'-type 'FAD-Schulterstück' for a justified price!
