Very unusual - and dual maker-marked! - 'Eisernes Kreuz 1. Klasse' (ie. Iron Cross 1st Class) being a maker- (ie. '26'- and/or 'L/18'-) marked example as was produced by the company: 'B.H. Mayer's Kunstprägeanstalt'
This is an attractive - very unususally encountered and fully untouched! - example of a dual maker-marked: 'Eisernes Kreuz 1. Klasse' (ie. Iron Cross 1st Class) being a clearly maker- (ie. '26'- and/or 'L/18'-) marked example as was with certainty produced by the company: 'B.H. Mayer's Kunstprägeanstalt' as based in the town of Pforzheim and that comes in an overall very nice- (and I deem issued- and just moderately used- ie. worn-), condition. The piece on offer here has most certainly never been cleaned and shows an attractive (blackened- and truly 'satin-like'- ie. matted-) patina and shows a fully undamaged, black-coloured 'inner-core'-section. The piece - which shows a clear makers'-designation: '26' stamped into the back of its (flute-shaped) pin (and that shows the LDO-designation 'L/18' under the catch) can with certainty be attributed to the company: 'B.H. Mayer's Kunstprägeanstalt'. The cross retains a fair bit of its polished sides (or: 'hochpolierte Kanten') and does just show some minimal age, wear and/or staining. As stated above has this (typically minimally converse-shaped) specimen great and very fine detail: it was I deem issued and moderately worn and is just a tiny bit dusty. Simply a neat - dual maker-marked and fully untouched! - IC first-class by the company: 'B.H. Mayer's Kunstprägeanstalt' that is - I deem - accordingly priced: only the first such rare IC-variant I ever had on offer!
