Pair of WH (Heeres) early-war-period- (ie. 'M40'-pattern), EM-type shoulderstraps as was intended for a: 'Soldat eines Kavallerie- o. Reiter-Rgts.'
This is an attractive - fully matching and (I deem) early-war-period - pair of 'standard-issued'-pattern, WH (Heeres) early- ie. pre-war period- (ie. 'M40'-pattern), enlisted-mens'-type shoulderstraps (ie. 'Schulterstücke für Mannschaften des Heeres') as was piped in the desirable golden-yellow- (ie. 'goldgelbener'-) coloured branchcolour as was specifically intended for usage by a: 'Soldat eines Kavallerie- o. Reiter-Regiments' (or: simple soldier who served within one of the cavalry regiments) and that comes in an overall nice- (ie. I deem just moderately used- ie. worn-), condition. The neat straps - which have the 'standard'-pattern, darker-green-coloured and/or typical 'smooth woolen'-based 'upperdecks' and that measure approximately 12 cms. in length each - show the neat golden-yellow- (ie. 'goldgelbener'-) coloured and desirable 'silk-like'-type piping attached (as can be seen on the pictures). The pair comes naturally mounted onto their period-attached- (regular-shaped) tongues attached and comes in a very nice- (ie. fully 'text-book') condition overall (as can be seen on the pictures). These type of shoulderstraps are of the fairly early-war-period pattern straps and were worn in the period around 1939/1940 (and were 'worn-out' even during the rest of the war). The pair only shows minimal wear and/or age and is just nicely preserved over the years (as can be seen on the pictures). Of additional interest is, moreover, the fact that one of the straps shows a 'period-attached' button-hole in its tongue: I deem that was done in order to accomodate a (shooting)lanyard. I deem this an excellent occasion to acquire a neat - and most certainly desirable! - EM-type, 'Kavallerie o. Reiter'-related, Heeres-EM-type shoulderstrap-pair for a justified price!
