Pair of early- (ie. mid-) war-period WH (Heeres), 'M40'- (ie. 'M43-) pattern 'cyphered' EM-type shoulderstraps (with firmly-attached 'Überschuben'!): 'Soldat u. Mitglied des Pionier-Batallions 142'

This is an attractive - fully matching and with certainty scarcely found! - pair of early- (ie. mid-) war-period, WH (Heeres) enlisted-mens'-type (ie. 'M40'- ie. 'M43'-pattern) and neatly 'cyphered' shoulderstraps (ie. having a neat and matching pair of 'Schulterstück-Überschuben' attached!) as piped in the black- (ie. 'schwarzer'-) coloured branchcolour as was specifically intended for - and clearly used by! - a simple soldier (ie. 'Soldat') who served within the: 'Pionier-Batallions 142' (or: army-engineers'-construction-unit ie. bataillon, numbered: '142') and that comes in an overall very nice- (albeit moderately used ie. worn- and/or most certainly once tunic-attached-), condition. The straps are just moderately worn and do show some minimal wear, age and/or staining but are void of any damage or alike (as can be seen on the pictures). The straps show the desirable black- (ie. 'schwarzer'-) coloured- and/or 'silk-like'-type piping attached and measure approximately 11,5 cms. in length each. The pieces came mounted onto their period tongues attached (as can be seen on the pictures). The pair is constructed from the typical field-grey-coloured wool and is with certainty a 'standard-issued'-pair. Of additional interest is, moreover, the fact that this pair came with a (matching) pair of (field-grey-coloured- and/or woolen-based) so-called: shoulderstrap-slip-ons (ie. 'Schulterstück-Überschuben') period-attached bearing both the unit-designation: '142' (as executed in equally black-coloured, so-called: 'Kurbelstickerei' done in wool as can be seen on the pictures). This particular pair originated from a larger cloth- ie. 'cyphered'-shoulderstrap-collection I recently acquired for the web-site. Simply an attractive - and with certainty desirable! - neatly 'cyphered', 'Pioniere'-related EM-type shoulderstrap-pair that belonged to a: 'Soldat u. Mitglied des Pionier-Batallions 142'; I deem that I priced this attractive - and most certainly desirable! - EM-type pair according to its overall nicely preserved condition!
