Minimally used example of a two-pieced WH (Heeres, LW o. KM etc.) medal-bar (ie. 'Orden- o. Doppelspange') showing resp. an: 'EKII. Kl.' and a medal: 'Winterschlacht im Osten 1941-42'
This is a truly attractive - and I deem hardly used nor worn! - example of a WWII- (ie. TR-) period, 2-pieced WH (Heeres o. KM etc.) medal-bar (ie. 'Orden- o. Doppelspange') that respectively shows an: 'Eisernes Kreuz II. Klasse' (or: iron-cross second class) and medal: 'Winterschlacht im Osten 1941-42' (or: Ost-medal) both awards coming in an overall very nice- (and I deem just minimally used- and/or worn-), condition. Both medals are very nicely preserved examples that seem to have never been cleaned nor polished: both come in an equally minimally tarnished- ie. dusty condition and naturally also come mounted onto their period ribbons. The iron cross - which is an attractive example that was in my opinion produced by the maker (ie. 'Hersteller') named: 'Fritz Zimmermann' as was based in the town of Stuttgart (ie. 'Hersteller 6') - was with certainty never cleaned and has a nice and/or very attractive age-patina: it has just a minimally tarnished appearance (as can be seen on the pictures). The cross retains truly very nice and/or pronounced detail and has a very nicely preserved, black-finished (ie. somewhat 'matted'- ie. satin-like) core that is totally void of any paint-damage or alike. The medal: 'Winterschlacht im Osten 1941-42' (ie. 'Ost'- or: Eastern-Front medal) is a typical zinc- (ie. 'Feinzink'-) based) specimen that shows a somewhat 'matted' (ie. greyish-blue-) coloured age-patina and was most certainly never cleaned nor polished and therefore are details and/or finish still nice and/or crisp. The entire 'Spange' comes naturally mounted onto its functional pin- (ie. catch) set-up and is nicely 'backed' with a piece of darker-pink-coloured wool as is more often seen (as can be seen on the pictures). The medal-bar was recently found at a private-household in Germany and was never before part of a collection. The 'Spange' is most certainly a period-compiled- and/or worn piece and is NOT a post-war compilation or alike and was kept as such for decades. Simply a very attractive - and truly decorative! - two-pieced, WH (Heeres o. Kriegsmarine etc.) related medal-bar that is most certainly accordingly priced!
