Interesting, early-war- (albeit 'standard-issue'-) pattern, WH (Kriegsmarine) typical zinc-based- and/or greyish-silver toned ID-disc (ie. 'Erkennungsmarke') bearing the engraved text that simply reads: 'Hans-Helge Hoffmann - San.Offz. Okt. 1941'
The neat ID-disc (ie. 'Erkennungsmarke') - which is I deem of the typical 'standard-issued'- and/or early-war-period pattern - bears the engraved text that simply reads: 'Hans-Helge Hoffmann - San.Offz. Okt. 1941' and that comes in an overall nice- (albeit just moderately used- ie. worn-), condition. The ID-disc - that came mounted onto its beige-toned and linnen-based cord as worn - does show some regular wear (it shows somewhat torn-out holes and obvious scratches and/or fair wear). It was, however, never cleaned nor polished and is still a bit dirty. The disc was with certainty issued to (and clearly worn by!) a medical-orderly (ie. presumably 'Arzt' and officer) named: Hans-Helge Hoffmann. The disc also shows the bearers bloodgroup-type (Type A). It should be noted that these 'standard-issue'-pattern, KM-related ID-discs (ie. 'Erkennungsmarken') are actually not that easily encountered. Simply an attractive albeit moderately used- and/or worn naval-example that would most certainly merit further investigative work!
