Single, WH (Heeres) 'cyphered' officers'-type shoulderboard as piped in the bright-orange (ie. 'orangeroter'-) coloured branchcolour as intended for a: 'Leutnant u. Waffenoffizier' (or: weapon-equipment officer)
The neat - and actually scarcely found! - WH (Heeres) shoulderboard is a typical, 'text-book'-example of a Heeres-pattern, officers'-type shoulderboard that has the greyish-silver toned (ie. somewhat 'sub-dued') 'upperdeck'. The board - that was in my opinion issued and/or moderately used - shows the desirable bright-orange- (ie. 'orangeroter'-) coloured branchcolour (and was constructed from the 'smooth-type' wool as to be expected). The board - that never had a tongue attached and that was intended as a board of the 'sew-in'-pattern - measures approximately 11,3 cms. in length. The board shows a (minimally tarnished, golden-toned, 'Buntmetall'-based, regular-sized) 'crossed-canon'- (ie. 'gekreuzte Kanonenrohre') 'cypher' (ie. 'Ziffer') period-attached denoting the rank of: 'Leutnant' (ie. lieutnant). It should also be mentioned that these officers'-pattern, 'Waffenoffizier'-related shoulderboards are actually quite hard to come by and can easily be graded 'fairly scarce'. This neat board originated from a private-household in Germany and was never before in collectors'-hands. Simply an attractive WH (Heeres) shoulderboard that belonged a: 'Leutnant u. Waffenoffizier' (or: weapon-equipment officer)!
