5-pieced, WWI-period- (ie. RAD-related!) medal-bar (ie.: 'Ordenspange') showing amongst others a: 'Schlesisches Bewährungsabzeichen der II. Kl.' (or: 'Schlesischer Adler 2. Stf.')
This is a decorative - and in this combination with certainty not that easily found! - five-pieced, WWI-period- (ie. RAD- and/or Austrian-related-) medal-bar (ie.: 'Ordenspange') respectively showing a: 'Frontkämpferkreuz 1914-18' (ie.: 'Kriegsteilnehmerkreuz mit Schwertern'), a: 'Schlesisches Bewährungsabzeichen der II. Kl.' (or: 'Schlesischer Adler 2. Stufe'), a: RAD (ie.'Reichsarbeitsdienst'): 'Dienstauszeichnung 4. Stufe für Männer' and two (Austrian) WWI-period commemorative medals, all five medals coming in an overall very nice- (albeit just moderately used and/or worn-), condition. All five awards are nicely preserved examples that seem to have never been cleaned nor polished: all five come in an equally minimally tarnished- ie. dusty condition and naturally also come mounted onto their period ribbons. The FKK 1914-18 shows a clear makers'-designation on its back (that reads: 'R.V. 87 Pforzheim'). The detail on this award is nicely preserved but it does show some tarnished age-patina and some minimal staining (as can be seen on the pictures). The 'Schlesisches Bewährungsabzeichen der II. Kl.' (or: 'Schlesischer Adler 2. Stufe') shows two (separately-attached- ie. 'aufgeklammerten', bright-silver-toned devices ie. 'Halbmond' and/or text-banner: 'für Schlesien' as to be expected (as can be noticed on the pictures). The attractive piece - that is totally void of a makers'-designation as more often - and retains most of its (just minimally tarnished) golden-toned finish. The attractive RAD (ie.'Reichsarbeitsdienst'): 'Dienstauszeichnung 4. Stufe für Männer' is of the typical 'regular-weight'- (ie. I deem 'Buntmetall'-based-) version and retains gorgeous details and has a superb ie. only minimally darkened- ie. tarnished age-patina: it retains all of its fairly 'glossy'- and/or: darker-bronze-toned finish. Both (Austrian) WWI-period commemorative medals are nicely preserved examples that show both some regular age and/or wear. The 'Ordenspange' comes naturally mounted onto its functional pin- (ie. catch-) set-up and is neatly 'backed' with a piece of bright-red-coloured wool (as can be seen on the pictures). The medal-bar was recently found at a private-household in Germany and was never before part of a collection. The 'Spange' is most certainly a period-compiled- and/or worn piece and is NOT a post-war compilation or alike: it originated as stated above from a private-household and was kept as such for decades. Simply a very attractive - and decorative! - 5-pieced, WWI-period- (ie. 'Reichsarbeitsdienst'- and/or Austrian-related-) medal-bar (ie.: 'Ordenspange') that is in my opinion accordingly priced!
