Single, early-war-period (ie. 'M40'-) pattern, WH (Heeres) 'cyphered' NCO-type shoulderstrap as was intended for a: 'Wachtmeister u. Mitglied eines Art.-Beobachtungs-Abtgs.'

This is an attractive - and as such actually scarcely encountered albeit regrettably single! - early-war-period (ie. 'M40'-) pattern, WH (Heeres) neatly 'cyphered', NCO-type shoulderstrap as piped in the bright-red- (ie. 'hochroterer'-) coloured branchcolour as was intended for - and with certainty worn by! - a: 'Wachtmeister o. Feldwebel u. Mitglied eines Artillerie-Beobachtungs-Abteilungs' (or: NCO and sergeant who served within a specific, artillery-observers' unit) and that comes in an overall very nice- (albeit moderately used and/or worn-), condition. The neat shoulderstrap has a darker-green-coloured and (smooth) woolen-based 'upperdeck' as to be expected and shows the bright-red- (ie. 'hochroterer'-) coloured and/or woolen-type piping attached (as can be seen on the pictures). The strap comes mounted onto its functional tongue attached and measures approximately 12,2 cms. in length. Next to the ('standard'-pattern, bluish-silver-toned NCO-braid does the strap show a (larger-sized, 'Feinzink'-based and/or Gothic-styled) so-called: 'B'-cypher (ie. 'Ziffer') and two (regular-sized- and I deem aluminium-based) pips, period-attached. The neat strap just shows some moderate age and/oror wear (some minor staining and/or dust is visible- ie. present). It should be noted that all 'cyphered'-type shoulderstraps can be easily regarded 'scarce'. Simply an attractive and/or early-war period, neatly 'cyphered, Heeres'-related shoulderstrap as was intended for a: 'Wachtmeister o. Feldwebel u. Mitglied eines Artillerie-Beobachtungs-Abteilungs': too bad that it is only a single strap!
