The truly very attractive - and in this complete and untouched condition surely rarely encountered! - 'Reichssportabzeichen DRL in Gold' (or: golden-class DRL sports'-badge) on offer here was presumably issued but was simply hardly (or even never!) worn. It is of the version with swastika and truly retains all of its (fairly bright- ie. somewhat 'frosted' and/or: truly golden-coloured-) finish (as can be seen on the pictures). As stated above, is the sports'-badge nicely maker-marked with the makers'-designation: 'Wernstein/Jena' and bears the: 'DRGM'-text and/or number on its back as usually encountered. The badge - which has a fully functional and unaltered pin- and/or pin-catch set-up in place - was never cleaned nor polished and retains a truly bright- and/or untouched age-patina (as can be seen on the pictures). Of additional interest is, moreover, the fact that this example came stored in its period, two-pieced- and/or carton-based box (that just shows a bluish-black-inked class-designation on its top that simply reads: 'Gold' (as can be seen on the pictures). The award came, moreover, still wrapped in its piece of thin-shaped 'wrapping-paper' as issued and stored for decades. It should be noted that genuine golden-class DRL sports'-badges are not that often offered for sale: even more so when they come stored in their period 'package' ie. box. Simply a superb - and 'virtually mint'! - boxed example that will be impossible to be upgraded!
