WH (Heeres) 'tropical-issued' belt-buckle being a non-maker-marked (and/or period re-sprayed!) bluish-coloured example that comes mounted onto its original, greenish-coloured- (and/or: 'webbing'-based-) tab
The attractive 'tropical-issued' belt-buckle (ie. 'Koppelschloss für Mannschaften u. Unteroffiziere des Heeres') just shows some truly minimal age, wear and/or (rust)staining but comes in a fully untouched condition and comes as recently found. The buckle truly retains most (ie. almost all!) of its period-applied (ie. I deem period re-sprayed!), bluish-coloured paint (ie. done in the bluish-toned 'Einheitsfarbe 44') and was (I deem) just moderately used and/or worn: it just shows some minimal dust ie. staining but was never cleaned nor polished (as can be seen on the pictures). The buckle - which still retains pronounced detail as to be expected and that shows the initial tan- ie. field-grey-coloured paint on its inside - came mounted onto its original greenish-coloured- (and/or typical 'webbing'-fabricated) tab (as can be noticed on the pictures). These 'tropical' belt-buckles saw wide-spread usage within the DAK (or: 'Deutsches Afrika Korps') but saw also usage in the later-war years (for example in the Balkan- and/or Mediterranean-) combat-areas. It should be noted that these army-type 'tropical-issue' belt-buckles can nowadays easily be graded 'fairly scarce': even more so when they come in this just moderately used (ie. but untouched!) condition as this example on sale here. The piece was recently found at a private-household in Germany and was never before in collectors'-hands. I deem that I have priced this neat, truly 'tropical-issued'- and/or period re-sprayed example according to its moderately used- and/or worn condition!
