'KvK 1. Kl. mit Schwertern' being a neatly maker (ie. '62'-) marked example that comes in its equally maker- (ie. 'Kerbach & Oesterhelt'-) marked etui
The 'Kriegsverdienstkreuz 1. Klasse mit Schwertern' on offer here is a truly attractive (and neatly maker ie. '62'-marked- and so-called: 'Buntmetall'- ie. 'Tombak-'based) specimen that comes in its equally maker- (ie. 'Kerbach & Oesterhelt'-) marked and truly luxuriously-styled etui as produced, issued and/or stored for decades. The attractive - and I deem typical early-war-period - specimen is executed in bright-silver-coloured- and/or: 'Buntmetall'-based metal and comes in an overall nice- (albeit moderately worn- and used-), condition. The naturally non-magnetic- and/or non-vaulted cross shows a somewhat tarnished age-patina but has not recently been cleaned or polished: it still retains most of its 'frosted' silverish-coloured finish and retains a fair bit of its high-polished sides (ie. 'hochpolierte Kanten') as can be seen on the pictures. The cross comes naturally mounted onto its functional (flute-shaped) pin- and/or: period catch (ie. catch-set-up). However, the catch has been shortened but can still accomodate the pin (as can be noticed on the pictures). The piece - which shows the makers'-designation '62' stamped into the back of the pin (as more often encountered by pieces produced by this maker) - comes as found and/or stored for decades. The etui comes in an equally very nicely preserved condition: it is fully functional (and shows the printed, detailed and/or silverish-grey-coloured 'KvK'-symbol on its top). The etui has a fully preserved, black-coloured- (ie. velvet-based-) interior-section that also shows the printed makers-designation: 'Kerbach & Oesterhelt - Dresden A1' printed into its lid (as can be seen on the pictures). Simply a nice occasion to acquire an attractive and fully complete: 'Kriegsverdienstkreuz 1. Klasse mit Schwerter'-set for a justified price!
