'Allgemeines Sturmabzeichen' being a detailed albeit unmarked example (of the 'long-barrel-hinge'-variant!) as executed in 'Feinzink' as produced by the: 'Steinhauer & Lück'-company
This is an attractive - and I deem only moderately used ie. worn - example of an: 'Allgemeines Sturmabzeichen' (or: General Assault Badge ie. GAB) being a non-maker-marked, zinc- (ie. 'Feinzink'-) based so-called: 'flat-back, long-barrel-hinge'-variant as was executed in (typical silverish-toned) zinc-based metal (ie. 'Feinzink') and that was produced by the: 'Steinhauer & Lück'- (ie. 'S.& L.'-) company as based in town of Lüdenscheid and that comes in an overall very nice- (albeit - I deem - moderately used- and/or worn-), condition. This example is a typical non-maker-marked award as more often encountered: it has a 'typical' so-called: 'long-sized-barrel'-pattern pin-set-up and shows an elongated hinge-set-up (as is more often seen on GABs as produced by the: 'S.& L.'-company). The badge seems to be totally uncleaned and has still an attractive and/or only minimally 'tarnished' age-patina: a fair bit of its period-applied finish has been nicely preserved (as is not always the case). The pin and/or catch (ie. set-up-) are of course fully functional and present. The piece - which originates from a private-household in Germany where it was recently found - shows some minimal wear and/or staining but was with certainty never cleaned. Simply a nice - and honest! - 'Feinzink'-based, GAB that was produced by the: 'Steinhauer & Lück'-company and that is (I deem) accordingly priced!
