WH (Kriegsmarine) semi-official- and neatly enamelled so-called: side-cap-badge (ie. 'Schiffchenabzeichen') as was (I deem) intended for usage by members serving with the: '2. Vorpostenflottille - Abschnitt Kanal'

This is a truly very attractive - and with certainly quite rarely encountered! - WH (Kriegsmarine) semi-official- and neatly enamelled so-called: side-cap-badge (ie. 'Schiffchenabzeichen') as was (I deem) intended for usage by members serving with the: '2. Vorpostenflottille - Abschnitt Kanal' and that comes in an overall nicely preserved and just moderately used- ie. worn, condition. The medium-sized badge has an approximate diameter of 4.7 cms. and depicts a sea-mine with in its centre a (Dutch!) wooden cloag and red-coloured shield-device. The piece is totally void of any enamel damage but does show some mininal age- ie. scratches as can be noticed on the pictures. This particular cap-badge was (I deem) worn by members of the: '2. Vorpostenflottille - Abschnitt Kanal' (which specific unit was active in the Channel (making trips from Holland to France and vice versa). Simply a very scarcely found naval- (ie. 'Kriegsmarine'-) related side-cap-badge (ie. 'Schiffchenabzeichen') as was (I deem) intended for usage by members serving with the: '2. Vorpostenflottille - Abschnitt Kanal' and that comes in a wonderful and untouched condition!
