The neat ID-disc - which is I deem of the typical 'standard-issued'- and I deem early-war-period pattern - bears the engraved coded numeral ie. text that simply reads: 'Karl Kallmeier N 17923/41 K' and that comes in an overall nice- (albeit clearly worn-), condition. The ID-disc does show some regular wear (it shows somewhat torn-out holes and obvious scratches and/or fair wear). It was, however, never cleaned nor polished and is still a bit dirty. The number '41' almost certainly signifies the year of enlistment (ie. 1941). It should be noted that these 'standard-issue'-pattern, KM-related ID-discs (ie. 'Erkennungsmarken') are actually not that easily encountered. Of additional interest is, moreover, the fact that the piece also shows the bearers blood-group (Type 0) something that is unusual for KM-related ID-discs. Simply a neat, early-war-pattern albeit clearly used- and/or worn, naval-example that would most certainly merit further investigative work!
