'Einzelspange' (being of the detachable-pattern) showing a maker- (ie. 'G'- thus by: 'Godet & Sohn'-) marked WWI-period: 'EK II. Klasse' (or: iron cross second class)

This is an attractive example of a just moderately used- and worn, so-called: 'Einzelspange' (of the desirable detachable pattern) showing a WWI-period: 'Eisernes Kreuz II. Klasse' (or: iron cross second class) and that comes as issued, minimally worn and/or recently found. The detail on this example is nicely preserved: it has - I deem - never been cleaned nor polished and has an attractive and/or minimally tarnished age-patina (as can be seen on the pictures). The cross comes 'mounted' onto a metal-based 'clasp' (with functional pin/catch) as was intended for wearing this example on a 'going-out'- ie. dress-tunic or 'Waffenrock'. The IC truly retains very nice details it has a nicely preserved, black-finished (ie. somewhat 'satin-like'- ie. 'shiny-style'-) core and is void of any damage or paint-loss and has been truly nicely preserved. The piece shows a clearly present makers-designation stamped into its ring (that reads: 'G') and is as such a piece that can presumably be attributed to the desirable maker: 'Godet & Sohn' as based in the town of Berlin. The piece is just a tiny bit dusty and/or stained but was never cleaned nor polished (as can be seen on the pictures). The 'Einzelspange' is not 'backed' with a piece of cloth as is more often seen. The ribbon shows only minimal usage and/or staining. Simply a neat WWI-period, EK II. Klasse 'Einzelspange' by a desirable maker that is with certainty accordingly priced!
