The attractive - and typical light-golden-toned and/or zinc- (ie. 'Feinzink'-) based - 'U-Bootkriegsabzeichen' (or: U-boat war-badge) is as stated a neatly-maker-marked and/or fairly detailed, (I deem) somewhat later-war period example showing the typical (super-imposed) 'R.K.'-makers'-logo on its back (as can be noticed on the pictures). It is as such a typical example that was produced by the maker (ie. Hersteller) named: 'Rudolf Karneth' ('R.K.') as was based in the town of Gablonz. The piece retains a nice age-patina and truly retains most of its period-applied, somewhat lighter-toned golden-toned finish (something that is most certainly not always the case with these later-war produced pieces!). The piece is just a tiny bit stained but still shows extraordinary detail and comes naturally mounted onto its functional (thin-shaped) pin- and/or catch(-set-up) which are both fully unaltered and of course still fully functional. The badge has simply never been cleaned nor polished and is still a bit dirty ie. stained. Simply a very nice, later-war-period 'U-Bootkriegsabzeichen' by a very unusually seen maker that is with certainty accordingly priced!
