Pair of Waffen-SS NCO-type shoulderstraps: 'SS-Scharführer' who served within the: 'Waffen-SS Gebirgsjäger-Truppen'
This is an attractive - desirable, fully matching and nowadays very scarcely found! - pair of typical Waffen-SS, NCO-type shoulderstraps (ie. 'Schulterstücke für Unterführer der Waffen-SS') as piped in the darker-green- (ie. 'grüner'-) coloured branchcolour as was specifically intended for usage by an: 'SS-Scharführer' (ie. sergeant) who served within the various 'SS-Gebirgsjäger'- (ie. mountain-troops-) related divisional-staff (such as those of the: 'Prinz Eugen'- ie. 'Skanderbeg'-SS-Divisions) and that comes in an overall nice- (albeit clearly used- ie. worn-), condition. The shoulderstraps are constructed from the typical, black-coloured-wool and show the black-coloured 'upperdecks' and are in all facets a 'standard-issued- and (I deem) mid- (ie. later-) war-pattern-type pair. The shoulderstraps - which measure approximately 11 cms. sized in length each as more often encountered - show the neat darker-green- (ie. 'grüner'-) coloured branchcolour and/or desirable 'silk-like'-type piping attached (as can be seen on the pictures). The straps - which are 'backed' with field-grey- (ie. black-) coloured wool came mounted onto their (I deem privately-constructed) tongues attached (as can be noticed on the pictures). The pair shows the ('standard-issue'-pattern) silverish-grey-toned NCO-braid and a pair of (matching, regular-sized and aluminium-based) pips period-attached (as can be noticed on the pictures). The straps are totally void of any real damage but do show some obvious wear, age and/or staining (as can be seen on the pictures). The straps are as stated above only moderately used ie. worn. It should be noted that these original, period Waffen-SS NCO-type-shoulderstraps can easily be graded 'very scarce': even more so, when they are piped in the scarcely encountered, darker-green-coloured- (ie. 'SS-Gebirgjäger-Truppen'-related-) branchcolour!
