Pair of WH (Heeres) officers'-type shoulderboards: 'Leutnant eines (Sturm)Artillerie-Rgts. o. Abtgs.'
The attractive - and I deem hardly ie. simply never used! - shoulderboard-pair is a typical, 'text-book'-example of the Heeres'-type, officers'-pattern shoulderboards and has the silverish-grey- (ie. somewhat 'sub-dued'-type-) 'upperdecks': the boards were (I deem) issued but simply never worn and do show some minimal storage-age and/or staining only (as can be seen on the pictures). The boards show the desirable bright-red- (ie. 'hochroter'-) coloured (and were constructed from the 'smooth-type'- ie. 'moleskin-type'-wool as to be expected). The boards come mounted onto their (typical) smaller-sized tongues attached (as can be seen on the pictures). The boards measure approximately 10,2 cms. in length each and never had any numerals, pips nor cyphers (ie. 'Ziffern') attached (as can be seen on the pictures) denoting that the junior-officer who wore this set held the rank of a: 'Leutnant' (ie. lieutnant). Taking into account the fact that this pair has the somewhat 'sub-dued'-type 'upperdecks' I deem that it was a pair that was intended to be used on a regular 'front-tunic'. Simply an attractive WH (Heeres) shoulderboard-pair that belonged to a: 'Leutnant eines (Sturm)Artillerie-Regiments o. Abteilungs' and that is with certainty accordingly priced!
