Single, Waffen-SS, 'cyphered' officers'-pattern shoulderboard: 'SS-Obersturmfuhrer' who served within the: 'Waffen-SS Kav.-Truppen' (ie. '8. SS-Kav.-Div.' “Florian Geyer”)

This is an attractive - albeit regrettably single! - Waffen-SS, 'cyphered' officers'-pattern shoulderboard as piped in the golden-yellow- (ie. 'goldgelbener'-) coloured branchcolour as was intended for usage by an: 'SS-Obersturmfuhrer' (or: lieutnant first-class) who served within the: 'Waffen-SS Kavallerie-Truppen' (or: junior-officer ie. infantry-lieutnant first-class) and that comes in overall nice- (albeit moderately used ie. worn- and/or carefully tunic-removed-), condition. The neat shoulderboard measures approximately 11 cms. in length and came mounted onto its period (smaller-sized) tongue. It has a somewhat 'sub-dued'- (ie. greyish-silverish-coloured) 'upperdeck' and is executed in (smooth type) black-coloured wool as to be expected. It shows the woolen-type, golden-yellow- (ie. 'goldgelbener'-) coloured (and woolen-based) piping attached (as can be seen on the pictures). The board shows a period-attached (larger-sized- and somewhat tarnished, golden-toned) '8'-numeral (ie. 'Ziffer') and dito pip period-attached (I deem denoting that the officer who wore this board was a member within the the: '8. SS-Kav.-Div.' “Florian Geyer”). The board has most certainly been worn as such and shows some moderate age, usage and/or moderate staining. Of additional interest is, moreover, the fact that both devices were attached BEFORE the boards was totally assembled. I deem that I have priced this neat Waffen-SS-pattern, officers'-type 'Obersturmführer'-shoulderboard, accordingly!
