WH (Heeres ie. Waffen-SS etc.) 'Krim'-campaign-shield (as was produced by the company: 'Karl Wurster KG')
This is an attractive - albeit just minimally stained but nevertheless very nicely preserved! - example of a typical, presumably non-maker-marked, WH (Heeres ie. Waffen-SS etc.) 'Krim'-campaign-shield as was (I deem) produced by maker (ie. 'Hersteller') named: 'Karl Wurster K.G.' as was based in the town of Markneukirchen in Sachsen and that comes in a probably issued- and/or used albeit still very nicely preserved, condition. The shield - that comes without a woolen 'backing' attached - comes in a fully untouched condition and was I deem worn and/or used. It comes naturally complete with its metal- (ie. copper-toned zinc-based) back-plate and has all its four (copper-based) prongs in place (which are mounted in the center of the shield as can be seen on the pictures). The shield - which is minimally converse-shaped as more often - retains most of its original, bright-golden-coloured- and somewhat 'glossy' finish ie. bronze-like appearance (a fair bit of its period 'Brennlack' is still present) and was never cleaned nor polished: it does show some minimal staining only simply caused by decades of storage only. Although I did NOT check it I deem that this one is marked with the typical 'KWM in a circle logo'on its back. Simply a very attractive and desirable 'Heeres ie. Waffen-SS'-pattern example by the 'Karl Wurster'-company that was surely issued and presumably worn. I deem that I have priced this untouched specimen accordingly!
