Pair of WH (Heeres) officers'-type shoulderboards: 'Major eines Jäger- o. Gebirgsjäger-Rgts.'
The very attractive - and I deem just minimally used and/or worn! - WH (Heeres) officers'-type shoulderboard-pair is piped in the typical darker-green- (ie. 'grüner'-) coloured branchcolour: as such, the pair was intended for usage by a fairly high-ranked officer holding the rank of a: 'Major eines Jäger- o. Gebirgsjäger-Regiments' (ie. major who served within a mountain-troopers unit). The attractive pair was most certainly issued and minimally worn as such but comes, nevertheless, in an overall nicely preserved and/or fully untouched, condition. The shoulderboards - which are constructed from the darker-green- (ie. 'grüner'-) coloured, 'smooth-type' (ie. moleskin-like-) wool - come in an excellent condition overall and will be hard to be upgraded (the pair is fully matching as can be seen on the pictures). The somewhat 'sub-dued' appearance of the 'upperdecks' is fully present and/or preserved (something that is to be expected for a 'Heeres'-related shoulderboard-pair). The boards are just a tiny bit 'tarnished' by normal age and/or storage for decades and do show some age, wear and staining (as can be seen on the pictures). The neat and somewhat smaller-sized boards - which measure approximately 9,5 cms. in length each - never had any numerals ie. cyphers (or: 'Ziffern') nor pips attached denoting the officers'-rank ie. function of a: 'Major eines Jäger- o. Gebirgsjäger-Regiments'. The straps come mounted onto their (typically smaller-sized) tongues attached (as can be seen on the pictures). This pair originated from an older 'Gebirgjäger'-related shoulderstrap ie. board-collection that I recently acquired for the web-site. Simply an attractive, 'Heeres'-related officers'-type shoulderboard-pair that was intended for usage by 'Major eines Jäger- o. Gebirgsjäger-Regiments'!
