4-pieced, WWI- (ie. WWII-) period ribbon-bar (ie. 'Feld- o. Bandspange') showing various WWI-period awards and an: Austrian 'Anschluss'-medal
This is an attractive 4-pieced, WWI- (ie. WWII-) period ribbon-bar (ie. 'Feld- o. Bandspange') showing respectively the ribbons for a WWI-period: 'Eisernes Kreuz II. Klasse' (or: iron-cross second class), a: 'Bayern Militär-Verdienstkreuz 4. Kl.', a: 'Frontkämpferkreuz 1914-18' (ie.: 'Kriegsteilnehmerkreuz 1914-18 mit Schwertern') having a golden-toned sword-device attached and a: 'Medaille zur Erinnerung an den 1. März 1938' (or: Austrian 'Anschluss'-medal) as was awarded to all members of the armed forces that participated in the German occupation of Austria that started on: '1. März 1938'), all four ribbons (and 'Auflage') coming in a wonderful- (and only moderately used- ie. worn-), condition. The ribbons are of the regular (ie. smaller), ribbon-bar-size and measure approximately 1 cms. each (as is more often encountered). The 'Spange' comes in a very nice condition overall and is neatly 'backed' with a piece of black-toned wool (as more often). The attached device shows some minimal age ie. tarnish but has been very nicely preserved. Of additional interest is, moreover, the fact that this ribbon-bar is confectioned in the so-called: 'Austrian manner'. This particular example was in my opinion only moderately worn ie. used: it does show some usage-marks and/or minimal aging ie. wear. Simply an attractive 'Feld- o. Bandspange' having an desirable combination: great to decorate almost any tunic!
