Pair of WH (Heeres) 'cyphered' officers'-type shoulderboards: 'Major der Infanterie u. Mitglied einer Div.-Stabes'

The truly attractive - and actually scarcely found! - WH (Heeres) shoulderboards are typical, 'text-book'-examples of the Heeres-pattern, officers'-type shoulderboards and have the greyish-silver toned (ie. somewhat 'shiny') 'upperdecks': they were with certainty issued and worn as such and do show some minimal age, wear and/or staining (as can be seen on the pictures). The boards show the desirable white- (ie. 'weisser'-) coloured branchcolour (and were constructed from the 'smooth-type' wool as to be expected). The boards never had any tongues attached and were with certainty intended - and worn! - as a pair of the 'sew-in'-pattern (as can be seen on the pictures). The boards measure approximately 10,5 cms. in length each and show a matching set of (Gothic-styled, smaller-sized, bright golden-toned and/or: 'Buntmetall'-based) so-called: 'D'-'cyphers' (ie. 'Ziffern') period-attached denoting the rank of: 'Major'. Both devices are just minimally stained- ie. tarnished (as can be seen on the pictures). Taking into account, the fact that this pair has the somewhat 'shiny'-type 'upperdecks' I deem that it was a pair that was presumably intended to be used onto dress-tunic (ie. 'Waffenrock'). It should also be mentioned that these officers'-pattern, 'Divisionsstab u. Infanterie-Offizier'-related shoulderboards are actually quite hard to come by and can easily be graded 'fairly scarce'. This neat pair originated from a private-household in Germany and was never before in collectors'-hands. Simply a very attractive, white-piped, WH (Heeres) shoulderboard-pair that belonged 'Major der Infanterie u. Mitglied einer Divisionsstabes'!
