Single, WH (Heeres) NCO-type (ie. 'M36- o. M40'-pattern) 'cyphered' shoulderstrap: 'Uffz. des Jäger-Rgts. 17 (L)'
This is an attractive - albeit regrettably single but nevertheless quite scarcely found! - WH (Heeres) early- (ie. pre-) war-period, so-called: 'M36- o. M40'-pattern- (rounded-styled) neatly 'cyphered'- and darker-green- (ie. grüner-) piped NCO-type shoulderstrap as was (I deem) intended for - and clearly worn by! - an: 'Unteroffizier u. Mitglied des Oberfeldwebel des Jäger-Regiments 17 (L)' (or: NCO and/or junior-sergeant who served within the army (mountain-troops-related) regiment, numbered: '17') and that comes in an overall nice- (albeit moderately used ie. worn-), condition. The shoulderstrap - which is approximately 11,2 cms. sized in length and that does show the darker-green-coloured- and/or woolen-based 'upperdeck', woolen-type piping and 'standard'-pattern, silver-toned (standard-issued) NCO-braid attached. Moreover, does it show the neat hand-embroidered: '1'- and/or: '7'-numerals (ie. cyphers or: 'Ziffern') which are both executed in darker-green-coloured linnen ie. wool by means of so-called: 'Handstickerei' (as can be noticed on the pictures). The strap - that never had a tongue attached and that was clearly worn as a strap of the sew-in-pattern - shows as stated above some moderate usage and/or wear (some minor staining and/or dust is visible and/or present). It should be noted that all 'cyphered'-pattern, WH (Heeres) 'Jäger- o. Gebirgjäger'-related shoulderstraps can easily be regarded 'fairly scarce'. This strap originates from an older 'Gebirgjäger'-related shoulderstrap ie. board-collection that I recently acquired for the web-site. Simply an attractive and/or: early-war-period, neatly 'cyphered' and/or 'Heeres'-related NCO-type shoulderstrap that was intended for usage by an: 'Unteroffizier u. Mitglied des Oberfeldwebel des Jäger-Regiments 17 (L)'!
