Superb, WH (Heeres) Panzer-related so-called: 'Truppentraditionsabzeichen ie. Ehrennadel der 116. Panzer-Division' (aka 'Windhund-Division') being a detailed example as was executed in black-coloured zinc-based metal (ie. 'Feinzink')
This is a very attractive - and actually quite rarely encountered! - silver-greyish- (ie. black-) toned, WH (Heeres) 'Panzer'-related pin (ie. 'Traditions- o. Erinnerungsabzeichen') as was worn by members of the: '26. Panzer-Division' and that comes in an overall nice (and with certainty moderately used- and/or worn-), condition. The lapel-pin - which comes as recently found at a private-household - depicts the specific tactical-symbol of the: '116.-Pz.Div.' (aka: 'Winhund') and comes in an overall nice- (and clearly used- ie. worn-), condition: it was made of greyish-toned-, zinc-based metal (ie. 'Feinzink') that retains a typical zinc-like finish. The piece misses regrettably its (copper-based) prongs (which are 'broken-off' as more often) and has a slightly darkened age-patina: it was, however, never cleaned and retains its detailed appearance. These 'semi-official'-pins were worn on both the 'M43-type'-caps and/or civil ie. military attire. A similar pin is also figured in the Heering-Hüsken lapel-pin-catalogue, wherein it is given a unique reference-number: 9838A and an estimated value of 350 Euro. As possibly known have these pins a 'semi-official status': these pins were, however, awarded with an accompanying, specific (small-sized-) award-document and were also appropiately entered in both: 'Wehrpass' and/or 'Soldbuch'. Simply a very attractive and desirable 'Panzer'-related item that is I deem accordingly priced!
