Superb - and matching! - pair of early- (ie. mid-war-) period WH (Heeres) 'M40'- o. M43-'-pattern 'cyphered' NCO-type shoulderstraps (with 'Überschuben'!) as was intended for an: 'Uffz. u. Mitglied d. Kav.- o. Div. Aufkl.-Abts. 246 (mot)'
This is an attractive - fully matching and with certainty scarcely found! - pair of early- (ie. mid-war-) period (so-called: 'M40'- o. M43-') pattern, neatly 'cyphered', WH (Heeres) NCO-type shoulderstraps ((ie. having a neat and matching pair of 'Schulterstück-Überschuben' attached!) as was piped in the golden-yellow- (ie. 'goldgelbener'-) coloured branchcolour as was intended for usage - and clearly worn by! - a junior-NCO (ie. 'Unteroffizer') who served within the: 'Kavallerie- o. Divisions-Aufklärungs-Abteilungs 246 (mot)' (or: junior-NCO who served within a cavalry-related, motorised-reconnaissance-unit numbered: '246') and that comes in an overall very nice- (albeit moderately used ie. worn- and/or most certainly once tunic-attached-), condition. The straps are just moderately worn and do show some minimal wear, age and/or staining but are truly void of any damage or alike (as can be seen on the pictures). The straps show the desirable golden-yellow- (ie. 'goldgelbener'-) coloured- and/or woolen-type piping attached and measure approximately 12 cms. in length each: they show the silverish-grey-coloured (ie. somewhat 'sub-dued') NCO-braid attached. The pieces came mounted onto their period tongues attached (as can be seen on the pictures). The pair is constructed from the typical field-grey-coloured wool and is with certainty a 'standard-issued'-pair. Of additional interest is, moreover, the fact that this pair came with a (fully matching) pair of (field-grey-coloured- and/or woolen-based) so-called: shoulderstrap-slip-ons (ie. 'Schulterstück-Überschuben') period-attached bearing both the unit-designation: '246' (as executed in equally golden-yellow-coloured, so-called: 'Kurbelstickerei' done in wool as can be seen on the pictures). The pair shows some minimal usage and/or wear. This particular pair originated from a larger cloth- ie. 'cyphered'-shoulderstrap-collection I recently acquired for the web-site. Simply an attractive - and with certainty desirable! - neatly 'cyphered', 'Kavallerie- o. Aufklärungs'-related NCO-type shoulderstrap-pair that belonged to an: 'Unteroffizier der Kavallerie- o. Divisions-Aufklärungs-Abteilungs 246 (mot)'; I deem that I priced this attractive and desirable pair according to its overall nicely preserved condition!
