Superb - and rarely encountered! - bronze-toned HJ (ie. 'Hitlerjugend') related 'tinnie' being a maker- (ie. 'F. Mannheim'-) marked example depicting a: 'HJ-Fahne' and text: 'Grenzlandtreffen der H.J. Pfalz-Saar - Zweibrücken am 12./13 Aug. 33'
The attractive - and with certainty rarely encountered! – truly early-period, HJ o. DJ- (ie. 'Hitlerjugend o. Deutsches Jungvolk') related day-badge (ie. 'tinnie' or: 'Veranstaltungsabzeichen') is executed in minimally tarnished- and bronze-coloured- and (I deem) zinc-based metal (ie. pot-metal): it shows some normal wear and/or moderate age. The badge comes naturally mounted onto its functional pin-/catch set-up and was (I deem) never cleaned nor polished: it shows some minimal age ie. staining (as can be seen on the pictures). The somewhat unusally-shaped 'tinnie' (like a 'Raute') is very detailed and retains truly all of its minimally tarnished, bronze-toned finish (as can be noticed on the pictures). The 'tinnie' depicts two hands changing a 'HJ-Fahne' coupled with the text: 'Grenzlandtreffen der H.J. Pfalz-Saar - in Zweibrücken am 12./13 August 1933' (as can be seen on the pictures). Of additional interest is, moreover, the fact that this specimen shows a period-glued-on makers-designation 'sticker' that reads: 'F. Mannheim - Kaiserslautern'. Simply an attractive - and with certainty scarcely encountered - early-period- (and regional-issued!) 'HJ'- (ie. 'Hitlerjugend'-) related 'tinnie' that is accordingly priced!
