Attractive - and scarcely encountered! - WH (Heeres, LW etc.) WWII-period wrist-watch (or: 'Dienstuhr') of the make: 'Berg' having a black-coloured dial-plate and showing a number: '728016' on its back (and that comes in still running condition)
This is an attractive - and actually scarcely encountered! - WH (Heeres, Luftwaffe etc.) WWII-period wrist-watch (or: 'Dienstuhr') of the make: 'Berg' being a nicely preserved example that is having a black-coloured dial-plate and having an engraved (serial-)number - that simply reads: '728016' - on its back and that comes mounted onto its (presumably period- but most certainly replaced) light-brown- (ie. natural) coloured strap in place and that comes in an overall very nice- (and fully functional ie. running-), condition. These WH-service-watches - having a 'standard' 15- (or 17-) jewel movement - were distributed at a fairly small scale to the various soldiers (ie. NCO and officers!) of the: 'Deutsche Wehrmacht' and were properly entered in both 'Wehrpass' and/or 'Soldbuch'. They had to be engraved with a numbering on their backs (as is this example). As stated above, has the piece on offer here a black-coloured (and/or virtually undamaged but clearly used) dial having a subsidiary 'seconds'-dial at the 6 o'clock position. The piece - which I deem has been serviced - has a nice (albeit moderately used) chrome-steel-based casing (which is executed in nickle-silver- and/or copper-based metal): the entire piece just shows some moderate wear and/or age. As stated above, comes the piece in a still running condition and comes mounted onto its (presumably period, natural-coloured and/or genuine-leather-based) armband. Simply a nice - and fairly scarcely encountered! - WH-time-piece that is I deem accordingly priced!
