Superb - and fully matching! - pair of WH (Heeres) officers'-type shoulderboards as piped in the darker-purple-red- (ie. 'bordeaux-roter'-) coloured branchcolour as was intended for a: 'Leutnant eines Nebelwerfer-Rgts. o. Abts.' The very attractive - and actually quite scarcely found! - WH (Heeres) officers'-type shoulderboards are typical, 'text-book'-examples of the Heeres'-type shoulderboards and have the silverish-grey- (ie. somewhat 'sub-dued'-type-) 'upperdecks': they were probably issued but were simply never worn nor used: they do show some minimal storage-age and/or staining and came still with their period-attached inventory-etiket (as can be seen on the pictures). The boards show the desirable darker-purple-red- (ie. 'bordeaux-roter'-) coloured branchcolour (and were constructed from the 'smooth-type' wool as to be expected). The boards came mounted onto their (typical smaller-sized) tongues attached and measure each 10,5 cms. in length each: they never had any pips, numerals nor cyphers (ie. 'Ziffern') attached. Taking into account, the fact that this pair has the somewhat 'sub-dued'-type 'upperdecks' I deem that it was a pair that was intended to be used on a regular 'front-used'-tunic: the pair was presumably issued but was simply never worn nor used. It should also be mentioned that these officers'-pattern, 'Nebelwerfer'- (ie. army smoke-troops-) related shoulderboards are actually quite hard to come by and can easily be graded quite 'scarce'. Simply an attractive WH (Heeres) shoulderboard-pair that belonged a: 'Leutnant eines Nebelwerfer-Regiments o. Abteilungs' and that will be very hard to be upgraded!
