The attractive 'Kriegsverdienstkreuz 1. Klasse mit Schwertern' on offer here is a truly attractive and neatly maker- (ie. 'L/11'- thus by the company 'Wilh. Deumer - Lüdenscheid'-) marked, so-called: 'Buntmetall'- ie. 'Tombak-'based specimen that was just moderately used and/or worn: it came as produced, issued and/or stored for decades. The attractive - and I deem typical early-war-period - specimen is executed in bright-silver-coloured- and/or: 'Buntmetall'-based metal and comes in an overall nice- (albeit moderately worn- and used-), condition. The naturally non-magnetic- and/or non-vaulted cross shows a somewhat tarnished age-patina but has not recently been cleaned or polished: it still retains most of its 'frosted' silverish-coloured finish and retains a fair bit of its high-polished sides (ie. 'hochpolierte Kanten') as can be seen on the pictures. The cross comes naturally mounted onto its functional (straight-shaped- ie. flattened) pin- and/or: period catch (ie. catch-set-up) which are both present and unaltered (as can be seen on the pictures). The piece - which shows the makers'-designation 'L/11' stamped onto its back - is a typical, quality-produced specimen by the desirable maker: 'Wilhelm Deumer' as was based in the town of Lüdenscheid that comes as found and/or stored for decades. Simply a nice occasion to acquire an attractive: 'Kriegsverdienstkreuz 1. Klasse mit Schwertenr'-award for a justified price!
