Interesting, 'Extra Qualität', WH (LW) EM/NCO- (evt. officers'-) type, hand-embroidered breast-eagle (ie. 'Brustadler für Mannschaften u. Uffz. der LW') being a so-called: 'down-tailed'-example that comes in a carefully tunic-removed, condition
This is an attractive - and with certainty not that often seen! - so-called: 'Extra Qualität', WH (Luftwaffe) EM/NCO- (evt. officers'-) type, hand-embroidered breast-eagle (ie. 'Brustadler für Mannschaften u. Unteroffiziere der Luftwaffe') being a so-called: early-period- and/or 'down-tailed'-example that comes in a carefully tunic-removed, condition. The piece is fairly unusally embroidered in greyish-silver-coloured (and thicker-styled) linnen onto a typical, bluish-grey-coloured background (and is showing highlighted areas in greyish-toned braid) and comes in an overall very nice condition, just showing some moderate age and/or wear (some of the original stitching-threads with which it was once tunic-attached are still present and visible. This example - having a length ie. 'wingspan' of approximately 9cms. - shows a black-coloured- and/or paper-based 'backing' in place (as can be seen on the pictures). Simply a neat - and fairly unusually seen! - 'variant-pattern' example of a WH (Luftwaffe) breast-eagle that is with certainty accordingly priced!
