Superb - and fully matching! - pair of WH (Heeres) 'cyphered' officers'-type shoulderboards as piped in the bright-orange (ie. 'orangeroter'-)coloured branchcolour as intended for an: 'Oberleutnant u. Mitglied einer Divisionsstabes'

The truly attractive - and actually scarcely found! - WH (Heeres) shoulderboards are typical, 'text-book'-examples of the Heeres-pattern, officers'-type shoulderboards and have the greyish-silver toned (ie. somewhat 'sub-dued') 'upperdecks': they were with certainty issued and worn as such and do show some moderate age, wear and/or staining (as can be seen on the pictures). The boards show the desirable bright-orange- (ie. 'orangeroter'-) coloured branchcolour (and were constructed from the 'smooth-type' wool as to be expected). The boards never had any tongues and were with certainty intended - and worn! - as a pair of the 'sew-in'-pattern (as can be seen on the pictures). The boards measure approximately 11,3 cms. in length each and show a matching set of (minimally tarnished, bright golden-toned, 'Buntmetall'-based, somewhat larger-sized- (and/or identical) capital 'D'-'cyphers' (ie. 'Ziffern') and a matching pair of (larger-sized, golden-toned and equally somewhat tarnished) pips period-attached denoting the rank of: 'Oberleutnant' (ie. lieutnant first-class). All four devices are just minimally stained- ie. tarnished (as can be seen on the pictures). Taking into account, the fact that this pair has the somewhat 'sub-dued'-type 'upperdecks' I deem that it was a pair that was with certainty intended to be used on a regular, front-used tunic. It should also be mentioned that these officers'-pattern, 'Divisionsstab o. Waffenoffizier'-related shoulderboards are actually quite hard to come by and can easily be graded 'fairly scarce'. This rare pair originated from a private-household in Germany and was never before in collectors'-hands. Simply a very attractive orange-piped, WH (Heeres) shoulderboard-pair that belonged an: 'Oberleutnant u. Mitglied einer Divisionsstabes'!
