Mid-war- (albeit 'standard-issue'-) pattern, WH (Kriegsmarine) typical zinc- (ie. 'Feinzink'-) based- and greyish-toned ID-disc (ie. 'Erkennungsmarke') bearing the engraved numeral (ie. date) that reads: 'Horst Rümeke - Seeoffz. Okt. 43'

The neat ID-disc - which is I deem of the typical 'standard-issued'- and/or mid-war-period pattern - bears the engraved coded numeral ie. text that simply reads: 'Horst Rümeke - Seeoffz. Okt. 43' and that comes in an overall nice- (albeit clearly worn-), condition. The ID-disc does show some regular wear (it shows somewhat torn-out holes and obvious scratches and/or fair wear). It was, however, never cleaned nor polished and is still a bit dirty and still come mounted onto its period (part) of a meatl chain. The number '43' almost certainly signifies the year of enlistment (ie. 1943). It should be noted that these 'standard-issue'-pattern KM-related ID-discs (ie. 'Erkennungsmarken') are actually not that easily encountered: even more so when they were intended for officer-usage as the disc on offer here. Simply a neat, mid-war-pattern albeit clearly used- and/or worn naval-example that would most certainly merit further investigative work!
