Attractive - and truly rarely found! - example of a so-called: 'Einzelspange' (ie. single-pieced medal-bar) showing a: 'Kriegsverdienstmedaille 1939' (or: war-merits-medal), being a neat 'Buntmetall'-based specimen
This is an attractive - and truly very unusally ie. rarely encountered! - example of a so-called: 'Einzelspange' (ie. single-pieced medal-bar) showing a court-mounted specimen of a: 'Kriegsverdienstmedaille 1939' (or: war-merits-medal) and that comes in an overall very nice (and I deem issued- and/or only minimally worn-), condition. This example came mounted onto its original and/or neatly pre-folded- (bright-red ie. black-coloured) ribbon, which can naturally directly be worn on the (dress-) tunic as such. The medal - which retains truly most (ie. all!) of its golden-bronze-toned finish and that came mounted onto its orange-red-coloured ribbon - is a very nice and/or pronounced (and I deem 'Buntmetall'-based-) example having extraordinary detail (the medal has never been cleaned nor polished and is just a bit dusty and/or tarnished, simply caused by decades of storage and/or minimal wear). The 'Einzelspange' is nicely backed with a piece of brown-toned wool and came mounted onto a metal-based 'backing-plate' and shows a (regular-type- and/or fully functional-) pin-/catch- set-up. It should be noted that the (quite commonly found!) 'Kriegsverdienstmedaille 1939' is one of those TR-period awards that is not often (ie. almost never!) encountered in the format of an: 'Einzelspange'. Simply a very attractive example that will be very hard to be upgraded!
