The typical light-golden-toned and/or zinc- (ie. 'Feinzink'-) based badge is as stated a neatly-maker-marked and/or fairly detailed, (I deem) somewhat later-war period example showing the typical (super-imposed) 'F.O.'-makers'-logo on its back (as can be noticed on the pictures). It is as such a typical example that was produced by the Austrian-based company: 'Friedrich Orth' as wasbased in the town of Wien (ie. Vienna). The piece has a nice age-patina and truly retains a fair bir of its period-applied, somewhat lighter toned golden-toned finish (something that is most certainly not always the case with these later-war produced pieces!). The piece is just a tiny bit stained but still shows extraordinary detail and comes naturally mounted onto its functional pin- and/or catch(-set-up) which are both fully unaltered and of course still fully functional. The badge has simply never been cleaned nor polished and is still a bit dirty ie. stained. Simply a nice, later-war-period 'U-Bootkriegsabzeichen' that is with certainty accordingly priced!
