Stunning - and rarely encountered! - 'Ehrenblattspange der Luftwaffe' (or: airforce honour-roll clasp) being a 'Buntmetall'- (ie. 'Tombak'-) based example by the maker (ie. 'Hersteller') 'Otto Klein & Co.' that comes in its rarely seen etui
This is a superb - and truly very rarely encountered! - bright-golden-toned (ie. truly frosted!) so-called: 'Ehrenblattspange der Luftwaffe' (or: airforce honour-roll clasp) being a very attractive, typical 'Buntmetall'- (ie. 'Tombak'-) based example as was produced by the maker (ie. 'Hersteller') 'Otto Klein & Co.' that came stored in its (equally rarely found!) darker-b;ue-toned etui and that comes in an overall very nice- (ie. surely issued- albeit I deem hardly or even never used- nor worn-), condition. The very attractive piece - which is nicely 'Feuervergoldet' - shows all of its (off-factory) polished sides (ie. 'hochpolierte Kanten') as to be expected - and is (naturally) of a 'two-pieced'-construction (having a hollow-back LW-eagle-device mounted into a hollow-based, oak-leave wreath - as can be seen on the pictures). The neat piece retains all its four (flatted-styled) prongs and is in all respects a fully 'text-book'-example as was produced by the desirable maker (ie. 'Hersteller') 'Otto Klein & Co.' based in the town of Hanau. The piece came together with (ie. mounted onto) its (never used- nor worn and approximately 29 cms. long-sized) ribbon (ie. 'Bandabschnitt') as found (as can clearly be seen on the pictures). The piece came stored in its (equally rarely seen!) etui (that measures 10 x 6,5 x 2,7 cms. and that still retains in spefic, carton-based inlay): the etui shows some moderate (storage) age but is overall truly nicely preserved (it does show one flaw ie. torn area on its bottom). This boxed piece was recently found at a German private-household: it came from a regrettably unidentified bearer who kept and stored this item for decades. Of course, do I give a life-time garuantee on its unmistaken originality (as always). Simply a superb occasion to acquire a high-class, WH (Luftwaffe) award that is just rated in class below the Knights' Cross (ie. 'Ritterkreuz des Eisernes Kreuz'). I deem that I have priced this superb Luftwaffe-example accordingly!
