This is an attractive - just moderately worn and I deem mid- ie. later-war-period - zinc- (ie. 'Feinzink'-) based version of a WH (Luftwaffe) 'Erdkampfabzeichen' (or: ground-combat badge) being a (typically) maker- (ie. 'G.B.'-) marked example that was produced by the desirable maker (ie. 'Hersteller') named: 'Gustav Brehmer' having a 'separate' (ie. non-riveted) greyish-silver-coloured eagle-device originally attached and that comes in an overall very nice- (albeit moderately used ie. worn-), condition. The neat and quite detailed badge - which as stated above has been just moderately worn - comes naturally mounted onto its functional pin- and/or typical, rounded-pattern 'G.B.'-type catch (ie. catch set-up) (as can be seen on the pictures). These mid- (ie. later-war-) period badges show a 'loose' and/or detailed silver-coloured eagle-device attached (by means of soldering as is visible on the back). These zinc-based badges show, however, nice and/or pronounced detail overall. The badge truly retains most of its period greyish- (ie. silverish-)finish but does show a somewhat tarnished age-patina as is more often encountered. The badge shows a clear makers'-designation on its back and can with certainty be attributed to the desirable maker: 'Gustav Brehmer' as based in the town of Marneukirchen: the specific details on this badge naturally fully corroborate this. The piece is still somewhat stained ie. dirty but has never been cleaned: the greyish-silver-coloured eagle-device also retains a detailed appearance. Simply an attractive - and garuanteed original! - zinc- (ie. 'Feinzink'-) based by 'Gustav Brehmer'-produced 'variant' of this desirable LW war-badge!
