Very unusual, WH (Lufwaffe) item: a rarely seen, later-war-period- and/or printed armband (ie. 'Armbinde') entitled: 'Deutsche Luftwaffe' (which was exclusively worn by German pilots in order to identify them as such in case of an emergency-landing)

This is a very attractive - and truly unusually seen! - WH (Lufwaffe) item: a later-war-period- and (as always) printed armband (ie. 'Armbinde') entitled: 'Deutsche Luftwaffe' being an example that was exclusively worn by German LW-pilots in order to identify them as such in case of an emergency-landing or alike and that comes in an overall very nice- (albeit I deem just moderately used- and/or most certainly worn-), condition. These neatly (as always) printed armbands became 'standard-issue' of the pilot-equipment later in the war, when it occured that German crewmembers were thought to be allied pilots and were shot or molested by the German population 'as revenge on bombing their cities'. When wearing their full flight-gear it was hard to identify them as either Allied or German air-crewmembers. The armband on offer here shows a clearly-present (but somewhat hard to decypher) ink-stamp (ie. 'Dienstsiegel') and is printed in black onto a bright-yellow-coloured- and (somewhat roughly-styled) linnen-based background and measures (folded): 38 x 9,5 cms. The piece is - I deem - clearly used and shows some minimal staining and obvious wear (it is also a tiny bit wrinkled). Also these armbands are known to have been copied: this is, however, a very nice and rare original example: only the fifth such rare example I have ever encountered! Simply an unusually seen LW-pilots' 'Reichsverteidigung'-related equipment-item that is often missing in a pilots' mannequin-set-up!
