This commemorative medal (ie. 'Medaille zur Erinnerung an den 1. März 1938') was awarded to all members of the armed forces that participated in the German occupation of Austria that started on: '1. März 1938' and is a truly attractive and/or detailed- (albeit issued- but I deem hardly or even never worn-) example having great pronounced detail. The medal on offer here has a truly very nicely preserved, (bright) silverish-toned finish showing hardly any tarnish: it has, however, never been cleaned nor polished and truly retains all of its period silver-toned finish (as can be seen on the pictures). The detailed medal came mounted onto its neatly confectioned- (ie. pre-folded-) piece of ribbon (ie. 'Bandabschnitt') that still retains its period (copper-toned) 'clip' attached as was intended for easy tunic-attachment. The medal came with- (ie. came stored in-) its typical, bright-red-coloured- and non-maker-marked etui (which comes in an equally very nicely preserved condition): this etui is truly void of any real damage but does show some minimal (handling)age (as can be seen on the pictures). The golden-coloured eagle-design on the top of the etui, however, is naturally also very nicely preserved: it is not damaged nor denazified or alike but just shows some minimal age and/or staining as to be expected (as can be seen on the pictures). Simply a very attractive - and complete! - Austrian 'Anschluss'-medal-set that is - I deem - accordingly priced: one of the nicest such examples I had on offer for quite some time!
