Attractive, 'Panzerkampf-Abzeichen in Bronze' (or: bronze-class panzer-assault-badge ie. PAB) being a clearly maker- (ie. small 'W'-!) marked and zinc-based, so-called: 'flat-back'-example as was produced by the: 'Karl Würster'-company
This is an attractive - and most certainly issued- and/or moderately used - example of a later-war-pattern: 'Panzerkampf-Abzeichen in Bronze' (or: bronze-class panzer-assault-badge ie. PAB) being a clearly maker- (ie. small 'W'-) marked, so-called: 'flat-back'- and/or somewhat golden-silvered-bronze, zinc- (ie. 'Feinzink'-) based specimen as was produced by the: 'Karl Würster'-company and that comes in an overall very nice- (and - I deem - issued and/or just moderately used ie. worn-), condition. This example is a neatly maker-marked award that shows the various characteristics as only seen on IABs as produced by the: 'Würster'-company. The - very pronounced! - 'flat- ie. solid-back'-pattern war-badge seems to be totally uncleaned and has a still a very attractive and minimally tarnished age-patina: truly most of its period-applied (somewhat faded) bronze-toned finish has been nicely preserved (as can be seen on the pictures). The pin and/or catch (ie. set-up-) are of course fully functional and present (and unaltered). As stated above, is the piece clearly-maker-marked (with the small 'W'-character) and shows various characteristics - such as for example the typical pin and/or soldered catch-set-up - typically seen with PABs as produced by the: 'Karl Würster'-company: it deals with a so-called: 'Small “w” Zinc “Die 4”-piece' (as uniquely numbered with the reference-number: '1.2.4' according to the excellent reference-work entitled: 'The Panzer-Assault badge of WWII' by my Belgian friend Philippe de Bock). The piece - which originates from a private-household where it was recently found - was never cleaned and has been truly nicely preserved. Simply an honest 'Feinzink'-based, bronze-class 'solid-back'-pattern PAB as was produced the desirable maker (ie. 'Hersteller'): 'Karl Würster' and that is accordingly priced!
