Attractive - and desirable! - two-pieced medal-bar (ie. 'Orden- o. Doppelspange') showing a: 'KvK II.Kl. mit Schwertern' and a: 'Medaille Winterschlacht im Osten 1941-42' that both come period-mounted as a: 'Doppelspange'
This is a very attractive - and I deem only moderately used- and/or worn! - example of a two-pieced WH (Heeres, LW etc.) medal-bar (ie. 'Orden- o. Doppelspange') showing respectively a: 'Kriegsverdienstkreuz der II. Klasse mit Schwertern' (or: war merits'-cross second class with swords) and a: 'Medaille Winterschlacht im Osten 1941-42' (or: 'Ost'-medal) that both come period-mounted as a (non-detachable) 'Doppelspange' and that comes in an overall very nice- (albeit issued- and I deem just minimally worn-), condition. Both awards are truly nicely preserved examples that seem to have never been cleaned nor polished: they come in an equally minimally tarnished- ie. dusty (ie. used) condition and come naturally mounted onto their period ribbons. The 'Kriegsverdienstkreuz 2. Klasse mit Schwertern' is a typical 'Buntmetall'-based example that retains all of its golden-bronze-toned finish: it was, however, was never cleaned nor polished and therefore are details and/or finish still very nice and/or crisp. The 'Ost'-medal is a typical unmarked, zinc- (ie 'Feinzink'-) based example that is just a tiny bit dusty and/or stained: it was, however, was never cleaned nor polished. The medal has a somewhat 'matted' (ie. greyish-blue) coloured age-patina (as can be seen on the pictures). The entire 'Spange' (which is of the 'non-detachable-pattern') comes naturally mounted onto its functional pin- ie. catch set-up (that shows some rust-staining) and is nicely 'backed' with a piece of greyish-coloured wool. Simply an attractive - and desirable! - example of a non-detachable 'Doppelspange' that can be mounted on almost any TR-period tunic!
