Superb - and I deem somewhat later-war-period - WH (Kriegsmarine) zinc- ie. 'Feinzink'-based, so-called: 'U-Bootkriegsabzeichen' (or: U-boat war-badge) being a (typical) non-marker-marked example as was produced by the: 'E.Ferd. Wiedmann'-company
The truly very attractive - I deem somewhat later-war-period- and typical zinc- (ie. 'Feinzink'-) based - naval war-badge or: 'U-Bootkriegsabzeichen' is as stated a non-maker-marked- and very detailed and pronounced example that comes in an overall very nicely preserved- (ie. most certainly issued- and just moderately used- ie. worn-), condition. The award is as such (I deem) a typical example that was produced by the desirable maker (ie. 'Hersteller'): 'E.Ferd. Wiedmann' as was based in the town of Frankfurt. The piece has a very attractive ('frosted') age-patina and truly retains almost all of its (bright!) golden-toned finish (something that is hardly ever the case with these later-war-produced, zinc-based pieces). The piece shows, moreover, still extraordinary detail and comes naturally mounted onto its functional (thin-shaped) pin, typical hinge- and/or catch(-set-up) which are all three fully unaltered and of course fully functional. The badge has most certainly never been cleaned nor polished and is just a tiny bit dirty ie. stained. Of additional interest is, moreover, the fact that this particular example is quite converse ie. vaulted (something that is not always the case). Simply a very attractive, later-war-period 'U-Bootkriegsabzeichen' by the 'E.Ferd. Wiedmann'-company that is I deem priced according to its wonderful and totally untouched condition!
